So SCO wants to make a counter suite to Redhat's counter suite to SCOs suing of all Linux users? Maybe we can get some kind of recursive counter suing going on so all known lawyers get tied up into one case. Then life in the US can go back to normal.
Marketer: Hi this is Ann with a special deal on blah blah.. Could I speak with Joe? Me: Sorry he died. Marketer: Oh, sorry to hear that. Could I speak with whoever the current owner of the household is then?
I should have replied, "No, he just died at the audacity of your response.".
Of all these bugs that have been found in MS's products, how many of them have actually been exploited? No one seems to care anymore. Until some real disastor strikes, like a virus that actually deletes files and trashes a system, few people are going to care about these patches.
I'm waiting for the 911 of computer attacks to happen so people realize how bad these security holes are in MS. I'm not saying that would be a good MS-bashing thing to happen, but with all the vulnerabilities it's just a matter of time.
That's 450,000 less consumers to buy IBM's products. At least they can't buy them until they get a new job and no longer despise IBM for transferring their job overseas.
But how long does a burned DVD last? That is my question. I don't want to burn a disk with all my digital photos on it only to find out 5 years later that the dye (or whatever is on a DVD) fades and is no longer readable.
The model I find that works best is Modularity and Interfaces (I don't think that's the actual model name, I forget). The lead designer focuses on code that can easily be seperated into individual components (modules). These modules then have interfaces defined but little to nothing about their internals are defined. This way these modules can be handed out to people to code and there needs to be very little interaction between coders of different modules.
The problem with this model is that performance will be lower because there is less interaction between the internals of modules. But this day in age, easy maintanence and stability are more important than a few cpu cycles.
One problem that crops up pretty often with this though is struct interfaces (I use a lot of C). When a member is added or deleted or a module owner notices the need for a new member, this can affect lots of other modules owners.
Now kids can go back out on the street and get mugged, do drugs and get trashed at parties! Just what every "normal" kid should be doing. If my kid has a tendancy to get addicted to things then I want him doing drugs and alchohol, not evil video games!
Judging from it's history, China doesn't have to spend as much money of safety devices and testing.

Lets all invest our money in SCOs stock!! Then they are guaranteed to tank and go out of business in no time! It's time we made this tech bubble burst work FOR us.
It's like going to a playground and pushing viagra, drugs, porno and taking their lunch money while saying you'll be right back with a 100$ loan for them. Or if an old man came on the playground and started talking to your 10 year old kid about enlarging his penis, would you really have a problem with that?
Joking aside, I dont see spamming kids with this info as being much different than asking them verbally.
MS paid SCO for the license to use some vague part of SCO's unix code. So does this mean MS will pay Sendo for directly using Sendo's technology in its own OS?
One problem with geocaching I see is that eventually trails will be created to caches far out in the woods. People always take the route starting from the nearest trail and the path of least resistance through the woods. This means that if enough people goto this same cache, a path will be worn in the woods. Once a path is there, what's the point of a GPS? You follow the path right to the cache. You can't move the cache obviously so what do you do? Perhaps people can show some sportsman ship and pick random places to start their trek to the cache.
I'll give you the finger and you can give me my Linux Kernel.

Which one will give me the best framerate in Quake?
"Sorry, he's dead."
I tried something similar to this, it went like:
Marketer: Hi this is Ann with a special deal on blah blah.. Could I speak with Joe?
Me: Sorry he died.
Marketer: Oh, sorry to hear that. Could I speak with whoever the current owner of the household is then?

Would an intelligent consumer buy white flour from a cocaine dealer? I think not.
What are you saying? Sorry I'm a little slow. Every time I make some toast I start hallucinating for a few days.

Can you point it at a cute girl on the street and have her name automatically searched for in Google? Instant digital stalking!

When you stick your middle finger up will the car automatically flash it's lights, blare it's horn and swerve violently?

They have been spamming the world with their ignorance for a while.
There you are!!! I've been sleeping on a wooden floor in a bare room for the past 3 days! That's the last time I use Jabbadabbadoo Moving Services!
...because I'm wearing tin foil underwear. Looks who's laughing now!
Does this mean Sun is going to change their name to Twilight?
The bush administration should do something about breaking up monopolies, but I think they are too busy falling off Segways at the moment.

Is there a country were people will work for free?
Yes, they are called open source developers and they are in every country around the world.
