This is like asking why the strip club doesn't have strippers you can throw dimes at, so your money can last all night. What incentive does the casino have to treat you like James Bond for potentially some percentage of $40 spread over several hours?
Have you been to a casino before? Even in rural America, they somehow manage to attract a ton of non-americans and first generation immigrants. This really ain't an American thing.
Perhaps the speed of progress isn't at its absolute most pivotal peak in the last 5 years but it seems a little silly to get alarmed about.
It's like being a Wall Street trader and ho-humming a week in which (bear with the exaggerated numbers here) the Dow Jones went up 5000%, just becuase there have been a string of weeks in the recent past where it was up 10,000%, even though for 99% of weeks through all of history it has only climbed by 1.6%, and occasionally even regressed.
The bandwidth costs that MMO's incur, especially large ones like WoW, are non-trivial. More time playing per subscription period means more bandwidth costs, lowering the profit made from that subscription. Over several hundred thousand subscriptions, that could have a serious effect on profit margins. Obviously, then, the ideal for making money is to have a game where every subscription renews, but no ones actually logs in and plays.
I never really though about it, but apparently MMOs have the same business plan as Chinese Buffets and gym memberships.
But a casino is only fun because there is real money on the line. Have you ever played slots or blackjack for fake money from some shareware disc? It's excruciating. So I'm not sure the same principles apply.
In the US, out of some 20,000 counties, eight of the top ten counties for longest lifespan are along the Continental Divide in Colorado, which makes no sense at all from a families-sticking-together mindset -- indeed, the lowest lifespans are seen in counties that have old American Indian reservations where family and community life is both important and preserved.
Anyone have any idea why there is a cluster in the high country of Colorado? Low Oxygen? Healthy Lifestyle/Exercise from walking up all the damned hills? Are the mountainous parts of Japan even healthier than the coastal ones?
I think the best answer is choose the bank who is willing to cover you the best/most for having to use this inherently insecure (as you've illustrated) system.
If there is no such bank willing to accept the risk, I guess you just have to plan ahead/use travellers checks or something.
No kidding, I've never understood PC Magazine/World et al. If you're that big a computer nerd, you'll be building your own machine, and if you're not, is it really worth a $9 magazine to decide between a $899 Dell and a $879 Gateway with nearly identical guts? Just pick the one that looks nicer on your desk and get on with your life.
And we are bigger more spread out population-wise poorer and everything.
Except you're not, but that is no excuse for the US-based ISPs anyhow, because the East coast or California or several other metroplexes aren't spread out either, and they still have shit for internet connectivity.
Or are people living in rural Canada actually getting $40 unlimited connections at a reasonable speed?
There is a software market in China? I mean one that generatess actual money, and doesn't just pirate everything?
I guess 2% of a billion is a pretty big number.
Lycos? altavista.digital.net was the best pre-Google!
Where the hell are you playing Blackjack?

(how is that for a hamfisted analogy?)
There is literally an entry that says "Cement Production" on that link.
You really shouldn't throw the fat/transfat police in there. That's like expecting the market to "sort out" leaded paint or asbestos ceiling tiles.

Thats an asinine comparison. Did you know Australia has a tiny number of American deaths per square mile too? I wonder why?
They certainly can. Ever seen "Apocalypse Now?" "Eyes Wide Shut?" "Psycho?" Picasso's "Guernica?"
One of these things is not like the other....
Seriously, Eyes Wide Shut was terrible.
But your point about that violence and sexual content can be a critical part of art still stands.
This means their technicians are also their artists.
So that's why all the cutscenes in Half Life 2 were so stunted and cold....
y = illiteral idiots
nothing to see here...

they did, the original headline was missing "when".
That headline makes no sense.
For a guy with a wife, you should be more cognizent of the fact that it is indeed desireable (on occasion) to rub one to Teens in Tight Jeans 2.

All I want to add to this conversation is...
Jessica Alba
Circa 2005
But... goddamn.
Does stealing and killing being illegal do anything for its prevention?
Um... yes?
But yeah nothing is wrong with legal prostitution, it really can't be equated to theft or murder.
You're welcome to off yourself.

bad FSB, using square tags.
