I think once the homeland of department security figure out that the same PC is accessing slashdot (pro Linux==pinko commies) and the NYT(left wing radicals acc to such levelheaded radio personalities such as Michael "not my real name" Savage and Rush "send druggies to Switzerland" Limbaugh, they'll take your PC and ship you to Guantanamo Bay.
I started using Skype last week, the sound quality in my experience blows the Voice IM clients away. They claim to be developing a way of calling regular phones as well.
There's another theory that states that if the arctic polar cap continued its decrease the gulf stream would stop comletely or change its course. This would make Western Europe a bit chilly in the winter.
What about canning history lessons in schools? It's full of wars, murders and other horrible stuff. Future Breaking news story
The parents of a victim's cousin's dogwalker's neighbor sues history teacher, school, town, state, and the Roman Empire since a student somehow found out about Nero, Caligula and Jack the Ripper. Local govt' saves billions on history books by not paying for all pages that include anybody dying. Entire 20th century history class now handled in one 10 minute lesson squeezed in as students get off the bus.
On top of that, how much support do you need for an OFFICE SUITE?
I agree, I've used MS Office at work for the last 10 years or so, not once have I ever called MS for help.
A car purchase is rarely made with logic and reason as the only factors, or we'd all be driving practical, safe, fuel efficient cars. I won't buy an Outback because I think they're damn ugly and Paul Hogan drives me nuts. I know it doesn't make sense but it's truth. (I have to admit I've considered the WRX though)
Hey, my cube is my cube. All 100 cubic feet of it. I'll put up whatever I please, and leave it as messy as I want....or at least till my boss tells me otherwise.
There might be some issues with parenting here but we don't know that for sure. How about blaming the kids that did the shooting? If you at 16 don't know it's wrong to shoot at cars you deserve to get locked up. My parents both worked when I was growing up and they had no idea what games I played, or movies I watched, books I read, etc. They still didn't have to worry about me running around killing people.
When I play games it's to relax for a few minutes (1hr) at a time so I need the instant or near instant gratification of blowing things away (fps) or scoring points (sports or arcade style games) in a short amount of time. I don't need to get so involved in solving a problem it takes me hours to do it, I have work to provide that for me.
I too am cursed by a long commute to a major metropolitan area (NYC). However, since we have some clients on the left coast I work pacific time so I don't get in till 11AM. Or rather I'm supposed to but it's hard to get up in time. Every now and then I have to get to work normal hours and it takes a small eternity if I'm on the road anytime between 6.30 and 10AM. I'd welcome some traffic cams to help me along the way.
If/when I get one I'll have to set up a webcam to watch how my pets deal with the Roomba. Currently our non-robotic vacuum is what freaks out my dog the most after thunderstorms and the word "bath". At least when I'm manning the vacuum he can give me the wtf look.
oh the marathon sessions of Yie Ar Kung-Fu, Bomb Jack, WizBall etc.

I thought it was a reference to the legendary Brian Eno.
No, that would have required us clicking on the link, which in turn would suggest we went there to read the article, big ./ no no.
you know, you could try pushing it...scientific process and all that
There's a building on Main Street Danbury, CT called the Harry Dick building

I don't recall any rabbits in Brave New World?
I suppose so.
as long as we figure out a way to backup our stacks which will enable us to jump in to new sleeves when there's organic damage to the old ones we can become risk taking to the point of recklessness.
