My cable company advertises up to 50Mbps and in every test I've done I get around 50Mbps. There is a cap, but it is very reasonable and you can buy more for a reasonable amount as well. Very happy so far.

No. My name is somewhat unique. There are zero other people in the US with this name that I can find currently and only one in the past (that I can find through normal methods). So are those of most of my siblings. I know friends whose last name would point them out immediately since they are the last with their surname. A real name is far far less anonymous than a handle. Yes there are some names that are so common as to be anonymous. Not all of us fit into that though.

I have spent way too much time in this wonderland and I must say that with proper adult supervision the danger is minimal compared to the kinds of stuff we did as kids. We used to leave in the morning and come back when the streetlights came on, build treehouses with exposed nails and rotting wood, jump down from said treehouses with nothing but a pile of leaves to catch us.

This place has its share of dangers, but wow. Worth it and then some. If ever there was a place that took all my favorite childhood memories and tried to stuff them into one building it would be this one.

Are they TRYING to make excuses for failed games?

When people stop buying a $50-70 game because they don't know how good it is are they going to blame piracy again? Wtf.

I can see some part of his point. Most people who download the demo are already interested, so it's kind of redundant. I know of several games where I was uninterested until my friends told me to try the demo out.

I know people who sit around downloading demos to find which game they're going to buy next.

As it is I still have no idea what the ipad would actually be good for.

  14. Re:What's old is new on How To Enter Equations Quickly In Class? · · Score: 1

What annoys you about onenote? The only thing that really pisses me off is that regardless of what amount of proc I tell it to use at which times, it tends to lock up solid for a few seconds to 20 seconds or so every once in a while. Especially when I paste an image into it (I have ocr of images disabled supposedly) or when I use the pen for the first time since a hibernate (did it forget I had a pen?). I can live with both of those. For my mode of thought a tablet with onenote is just too handy to give up. Google needs to come up with a replacement. I'd like to have google notes on my phone and tablet so I can easily send lists and stuff to my phone from the tablet and take notes impromptu then sync them back to my tablet. (I do have onenote mobile, but I don't want to type. I think better when I write and draw images for some reason.)

  15. Re:Win Mobile features on Comparing the Freedoms Offered By Maemo and Android · · Score: 1

I disagree entirely. I have an HTC touch pro and I have put WM 6.5 on it. I get about 2 days of medium use out of it when I don't charge (though I charge almost every night). I reboot it about once every 2 weeks or so. It is generally snappy and responsive as long as I'm not running ridiculous amounts of apps. It has all the features I want and if I can't find a free app for what I want to do I can write one. The battery reporting has never been wrong since I got the phone on the day of launch.

My mother has an Iphone as do several people here at work. The only thing I'd really like to have is the multitouch. The "zoom wheel" thing on this leaves something to be desired. I've played with the G1 many times (my cousin has one as does my best friend and brother in law) and the only draw for me for that one would be googles apps. (most of which work fine anyway).

I would have never come back if not for the changes they have made to leveling. Several of my friends would never have started playing. I am positive that the number of people who dislike the accelerated leveling are in the minority.

If they made it to where you could start alts at level 80 when you've already leveled a character to 80 then I would play considerably more than I already do. Sinking that much time into a character before you can even really start to play the game is simply stupid. I don't have 8 hours a day to play. I'm glad you do.

Oh wait no, I think you're right. Please make this game even more grindy.

Why do they have to have the same motivations that we have? Once they've hit 3 or 4 solar systems what will they find in others that they couldn't in their own? Or floating out in freespace?
