    One of the worst abuses of this is scientific journals that lay mouldering in a few libraries around the world. There is no financial incentive to digitize them yet no legal way for people to voluntarily do it.

    With an upgrade of the end components you could easily get several orders of magnitude higher bandwidth over the existing fiber.

    I am one of those people that benefit from creating questions before I can absorb the basics. If I tinker with something first it is much easier for me to scan the manual for the areas I need help.

    I don't see anything wrong with learning JAVA and then seeing how JAVA works by learning c/assembly.

    Maybe a better analogue would be make using 'hacker tools' illegal across public networks.
    Setting up a private network to learn and experiment should be legal.

    I agree, however, that there is danger in this vaccine in that it can also affect a lot of anesthetic's used for medical purposes.

    Not really, cocaine is unique in that it is an ester and easily metabolized by the bodies Esterase enzymes. This is why it was a good candidate for the vaccine.

    I have invariably lost every remote that was paired with my gadgets. I have a dvd player that will play but no way to select menu options. AFAIC this is piss-poor engineering.

    Especially since this is a 'grandma pc', most likely coupled with a small monitor. I wouldn't be surprised if Grandma would want to set this thing to 800x600 on a 17" monitor just so she could see the letters.

    Cellulose is also a name for the fibers found in wood. Film stocks were originally made from cellulose nitrate and then cellulose acetate (much safer).

    how often do you load a new grafics driver?
    I am amazed at how many software packages still require a reboot. IMHO this is much more annoying.
