I was more mad about the fact that they didn't even bother to broadcats it in HD when the whole thing is already setup for HD in Korea and Japan. They just needed to get the HD feed from then and broadcast.
While I don't particularly approve of the DirectTV/Echostar merger I am damn glad that Murdoch hasn't won. His idea of HDTV as evidenced by FOX is 480p. Screw you Murdoch.

OK, so there was a murder but the precogs caught that one, the system just ignored it.
My understanding was that the minority report was simply a different view of the incident. The murder still took place, but maybe not the same way the majority saw it. The fall guy would have drowned the woman had pre-crime not stopped it so it did work. Bergess was able to fool the system.

That is kind of the point. If you know you are going to commit the crime will you still choose to do it? They have chosen not to take that chance and simply jail anyone who will commit murder. Is that right?
The system as shown in the movie works (no murders in 6 years!). There were no examples of the system not working, the minority report simply pointed out a way to trick the system not that innocent people were being convicted. The original killer in the minority report explored in the movie was paid to kill the woman. The majority report showed this and prevented it. The minority report showed the second attempt, it was ignored since they thought the crime had already been stopped. Human error really, they ignored/missed the clues, happens in todays system.
This is why I don't really see a parrallel with the current US actions (maybe in a very superficial sense). I don't think the movie is an example of a broken system, but rather a question of if you could have a system that worked by jailing people before they commit the crime should you use it?
The above is all correct. I will add that the multiplayer is just plain boring. I gave up on it after about 15-20 games lasting about 20-30 minutes each (that is to completion, 4 player games). The worst thing is once you lose a partner you are dead, there is no way to defend against 2 peoples armies. Unless they have radically changed the gameplay in the last month it is a huge disappointment.
Oh and I would like to reinforce the point that the 3D engine has been completely useless in the beta maps. Not only is there no good camera control but there isn't any elevation in the beta maps so it is really still a 2D game.
You can open it in mozilla by going here.
I have no idea why they insist on IE, looks the same in both browsers.

According to Box Office Mojo the production cost of AOTC was $115mil. Spider-Man was $130mil. Marketing cost were vastly different though, $24mil for AOTC and $50mil for Spider-Man.
I think you are talking about the Intellivision. The 2600 had a one button joystick and a one button paddle controller. don't remmeber any other controllers for it.
I really don't see how looking at a picture of an ancient text is worse than looking at the ancient text itself. You are looking at text, the meat is in the words not in the medium.
Memory cards sell. Extra controllers sell. Are those not add-ons? I am not saying that the PS2 ethernet/HD will sell, but saying add-ons don't sell is silly.
Plug the cold side into the wall outlet or a battery or whatever to pump in more electrons. You then just have to get rid of the excess electrons from the hot side so plug that side into ground.
If your only alternative is to watch a print that was dragged through the mud, walked on, cut and pasted back together a few times then yes digital projection is better. If you actually have a good theater by you that is able to properly handle the film (long shot these days) then it is a toss up which I would give to film since there is no pixelization which is noticeable if you sit too close.
I haven't seen a digital projection since TPM so it may have improved since then.
My understanding of the situation is that they made the toolkit using Borland C++ Builder. So they need builder for Linux. I thought I remember Borland anouncing this but no idea what came of it.
All allow hard disk recording, however I have no idea how well any of them work. Looking around the various hometheater groups the HiPix seems to be the most popular. These only work for OTA HD, so you won't be able to record DirecTV/Dish HD stuff.
Intel panics, Microsoft gets its way (again), and we have yet another example of how Microsoft has too much power
So you would rather that Microsoft be forced to port windows to IA64? What about PowerPC, how about Alpha, should we force them to support those again too?
All the systems I have seen had lame bounties, just gold. Usually the economy is so broken that gold doesn't mean anything. you put in some killer bounties (like good items that can ONLY be obtained through bounties) and some bounty hunter type classes and skills that give big XP bonuses when used to collect bounties and you might have a working system.
We did not get our asses kicked in Vietnam. We were kicking there asses pretty handily when the US populace just got sick of it since they didn't see a point to it. Just look at the numbers. 1.1 mil NVA/VC dead versus 50,000 US dead.
I think you underestimate the tenacity of the American civilian. There is no way in hell China could invade us anyway (nightmarish logistics) unless they used nukes (or got some alien teleporting technology), and well if that happened there would be a couple Billion or so less people in the world in about an hour or 2.

13 is not UHF. Anyway you can add 31,36,42,43,53,59,60,61,65, and 66 in there as well. They are the digital channels.

HDTV 1080 support
You need the HD accessory for that, another $20, not a big deal really. How many games actually support 1080i though?
It seems that every time I get a new game I have to do a round of upgrades (more ram, new video cards, etc)
wow, you must be up to like 1 GB of RAM by now if you need to upgrade everytime.
Not really. There are three products to do this with a computer:
- Hauppauge WinTV-D.
- HiPix
- AccessDTV
All allow hard disk recording, however I have no idea how well any of them work. Looking around the various hometheater groups the HiPix seems to be the most popular. They probably realized that they couldn't include the spyware in it, thus no revenue.

How did you get none of the opposed were substantive? The article states:
'Overall, only a tenth of the more than 30,000 messages were classified by the department as "containing a degree of detailed substance."'
Nowhere does it say that the substantive were for or against the settlement.
