Agreed, this feels just like the iPod release strategy they did. They release a completely new innovative product in the high end to a limited audience, build up the buzz, then they release the improved 2.0 product at a lower price and dominate. Will they be able to do the same thing in the phone industry? I don't think they will be able to dominate like they did in the mp3 market, the phone market is much more mature. But I think they will shake things up quite a bit. Right now I think Palm, Rim, MS, etc. are all on notice.

Anakin is the real story of 1-6 and that is one of the reasons that 1-3 failed for me. They don't really show the tragic hero that he was supposed to be, Anakin was f'ing evil, I fail to see how saving his son somehow redeems him of the billions of people he has murdered. I blame this mostly on the stupid black and white concept of the dark/light sides of the force that Lucas came up with.

OKCupid would be good if there were any half-way decent women on it. At least for me about 90% of the women who I "match" with in my area are fat and/or ugly. I found 3 women total I have even some interest in, all 3 did not respond. They definately need A LOT more subscribers for it to work, I checked back after 4 months and they were all the same women. I really want to like the site, but for me it is just an amusing way to pass the time by taking a goofy test.

I have had better luck on match.

They want the Jews out because they don't believe they have a right to be there.

I saw a news program several years ago about the Temple mount. I think it was a report on Sharon's visit back in late 2000. There is a lot of archeology that should be done there but is disallowed by the Islamic authorities. There was an interview with one of the muslim clerics, his general response to the location of the old Jewish temple was "show me where this temple was, it didn't exist". Of course you can't show him since no excavation is allowed there.

I am not sure why they believe this, it is a fairly recent belief according to the wiki on the Temple Mount. Doesn't really make much sense to me, Christian, Muslim and Jew all have the same god supposedly.

That is not going to happen, no side would allow it. The people there just hate each other too much and are too stubborn to compormise for their to be any reasonable solution.

Even the super cheap virgin mobile phone I was using for a while (base model from ~3 yrs ago) had a usable sms system, you type out the message and click send, no webpage loading. But I agree that people in the US generally don't use SMS. The only person I really SMS with on a regular basis is an immigrant from vietnam. I just call everyone else.

Right now a company that releases a product in China has a very good chance of competing against that same product at a much lower price point in a few months after a chinese company copies it. Cars being the most obvious example right now. Just search for chinese car copies on google for more examples.

I never said I wanted to get drunk without tasting anything. I enjoy a nice glass of whiskey or bourbon when I go out, rarely to excess, because I am usually driving.

I mostly agree that there is a large number of people here who just want stuff for free, but there is a valid complaint that too many commercials just plain suck.

I personally have rewound my TiVo to watch a commercial that looks interesting, usually a movie trailer or some other flashy thing which may catch my eye (usually T&A :P ). It is possible to make some clever commercials which are entertaining, for example I sometimes stop to watch the new VW GTI commercials because I think they are funny.

The real problem is that the commercials rarely change, they are the same thing over and over for months at a time. If they could possibly update the commercials on a weekly basis and keep them entertaining I would probably not be so hasty to fast forward through the commercial breaks. They should just make a 10 minute short then edit it into 30 seconds chunks, that is 20 commercials ready to go (go to the company site to see it in its entirety and buy their products).
