The Pixel chromebooks are gorgeous machines. If they sold one with a supported linux distro (Ubuntu or Fedora, I don't really care), it would be my next laptop.
Then how about he commutes the sentence of Chelsea Manning - someone who went before a military court instead of running, who's already served more time than any other whistleblower in our nation's history?
The problem here is that some organizations have a security policy where hard drives are not allowed to leave the property. That means they can't purchase these laptops since the SSD is soldered to the board.
Except, you know, not having to read a bunch of manuals learning how to install Linux on it, the custom hardware and aesthetic, and also it's y'know, legal.
Both my grandmothers used to play a lot of NES. I could see either of them buying this to replay some of their favorite games - I can't fathom them trying to set up a Pi.
<Snooty baron voice> Most assuredly, they should be grateful they're allowed to work at all! Just like those fool peasants demanding an 8-hour workday. </Snooty baron voice>
And by Homeless hate on reddit you are talking about the people complaining of being assaulted in their own homes
You mean the woman who got punched after she smashed the windows of somebody's van with a hammer while they were in it?
the needles in the parks
Y'all always talk about needles in the parks, but I've yet to see even a single one in three years of living here. I did once see one in a back alley, though.
or the aggressive and sometimes verbally sexual comments that people now have to live with on a daily basis
If you think it's primarily homeless men that are verbally aggressive and sexual to women in the streets, perhaps you haven't ever walked by a bar? I've only been harassed by white guys dressed like they just got off of work.
because of the massive increase of homeless people in Seattle that have flooded here from all over the country.
People say they care about homeless.. you have a home let some homeless people stay there.
Sorry, it's against my lease. Doesn't mean I haven't bent the rules to let someone shower & crash on my couch for a night, but it's kinda cramped with me and my fiancee already.
Then pay your generous (LOL!) 10% tax voluntarily. Nobody is stopping you from doing it except you. Put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is, and shut up about taxing other people who probably need every penny they can get just to keep from being homeless..
("well why don't you donate your money then" - first, I do, and secondly, one person's funds only do so much).
If you believe in liberty and freedom and are against the use of violence to achieve political goals then you should move to New Hampshire to take part in the Free State Project and other liberty oriented organizations that have sprung up.
Sorry, I believe in taxes - no scare quotes necessary. But you have fun in New Hampshire!

You don't know what a kernel is, do you?
Electric heaters are electric heaters.
Your GPU is just an electric heater that happens to do computation as well.
I don't know what homelessness in South Korea looks like, but I can't imagine that taking away change makes it any easier for them.
Actually, this law ensures that you'll be able to complain about Slashdot over and over again, for as long as you like.
You're Welcome.
Sincerely,
The FCC
Agreed, I've done it a few times for easy or urgent bugs, and it's not fun.
Interestingly, as much as I love vim on the desktop, it's so much more useful (comparatively) when you're stuck on a phone keyboard.
Just get a purse.
Why would I want my phone screen to be curved?
Then maybe Trump can pardon her, since he's so buddy-buddy with Assange.
Yeah, I'm not blaming Snowden. But that's the reason that Obama cited for not being able to pardon him, and it doesn't apply to Pvt Manning.

You do understand that the government subsidizes oil, right?

You can get the version without the touch strip, if you're scared of it. Saves you some money, too.
Somehow, I doubt that they were disassembling all their old MacBooks to remove the SSD before going home every night.
The electoral college ensures that politicians ignore 90% of the country and focus on only the few swing states.

Wow, turns out the alt-right doesn't like "leftists." What a helpful comment.
Well yeah, that's why they're sending the bells all the way to Mars. A lot more prestigious.

More than 3/4 of our homeless are from Seattle. 90% are from Washington State. http://www.seattletimes.com/se...

What the fuck are you talking about? Vote yourself a 10% tax? Why not donate that extra to a homeless cause?
