Must be how I moved up in some search results. My page is linked from about 20 slashdot pages, so I must be pretty popular. (since it is linked on every slashdot post I make)
Most people convicted of crimes eventually come to the realization that they were indeed wrong. Those that don't usually are the ones that end up back in jail over and over again.
Another point: Since the surface doesn't "give" like a traditional keyboard does, you might start to see cases of RSI from repeated pressure on the tips of the fingers. Sort of like what is seen in people that work in factories that have to push small parts in with their thumbs or fingers. You can actually start to lose feeling in the end of your fingers or have serious pain.
Instead of replying to all of these comments, I'll just reply to this one. I agree with the point you all are making. Perhaps console makers would be smarter to lease the consoles to people much like a cable box instead of selling them. That way they could control what you do with them. Of course, I wonder how many people would pay for to rent a console for some amount of time?
Well, at least that's what I think is causing my problems. I'm trying to install Redhat 8 on my laptop which has an old school celeron 466 (non-mobile), and every time after install it locks up after freeing unused kernel memory. 7.3 worked great, and I had the same error with Mandrake 9. Any ideas or similar experiences? I got absolutely no response on the forums.
While the people posting these comments are obviously trolls, I should point out that the World Trade Center was proposed in 1960 or so. That would probably be the earliest anyone would have known about the possible existence of those towers, and that date is after Tolkein wrote the book.
I saw the first movie before reading the books, so I plan on watching all 3 movies and then reading all 3 books. I think it would be too complicated to mingle different flavours of it together by watching and reading out of order. This way I can enjoy one view of the story at a time and compare them separately.
That or I am just too lazy to read the books right now.
That mindset is part of the problem. Most likely what happened was they needed something done a different way than originally planned, and since they assume software is the easiest to change, they put the burden on them to conform to everything. My guess is they tried to separate the software from the rest of the system and just assume the software would be easily able to change and keep up with everything else as needed, when instead they should have been developed together and treated as parts of a whole.
I think it should be up to the taxpayers funding the University if they want to pay for the 5mb pipe dedicated almost entirely to P2P.
I would liken it to an employee using the company copy machine for personal use. The company is paying for something it shouldn't be. In this case, the state is paying for something they shouldn't be: use of their network for purposes not in line with the school's mission and purpose.
Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. Maybe you should realize I was merely pointing out a technicality, and was not making any statement to my opinion or otherwise about the article. Personally, I think that we need to pursue alternative fuels (hydrogen, solar, and otherwise), recycle more goods, reduce waste, eat less animals, and take care of what we have before we lose it.
Personally, I always found it ironic that many conservatives are against conservation. Of course, they're for a conservation of a different kind. They would rather preserve the past of burning coal and gas and chopping down every tree in site, instead of researching and pursuing other options.
I don't know why I just bothered replying to a troll.
It makes sense, basically it's saying that global warming will screw up ocean currents. If the gulf stream current ever got reversed or went away, then the northern atlantic region would see drops in temperature similar to what he is saying. Don't count on much of the US cooling off except maybe northern Maine. Europe would be the most affected. For their latitude, it should be much colder there than it is were it not for the ocean currents.
Downloading music that doesn't first belong to you is theft, indeed. It's no different than walking in a store and taking it off the shelf, you just don't have the cheap media it was originally printed on.
Copyright infringement is the part of the person who is distributing the music illegally. I wonder if they could get arrested for dealing in stolen wares, since most likely they are sharing files they do not hold licenses for themselves.
Isn't the point of notepad to be as slim as possible and still functional? It's not meant to be the VI of windows, it's meant to be a simple text editor.
It would be even better if they offered more stories from news sources arond the world. I've noticed in the past that if I read a story on CNN.com, and then go read it on El Mundo or Le Monde that you tend to get a very different point of view. Especially with stories that look at the United States or International issues. A real good example was the recent problems in Argentina and how the US news presented it, and how international news sources presented it.
The.Net Framework is not an alternative to Sun's Java Virtual Machine. You CAN pick which JVM you would like to use, Sun's or MS's or any other one. The.Net Framework isn't a JVM.

I doubt it's going to ssh to my linux box and disable all my iptables rules..... That'd be the day.

I figure GWB will blame Saddam Hussein when he can't get to his favorite web sites. Then he can use it as proof they hate us and want to kill us all.
Installing the alternative spark plug doesn't cheat the original manufacturer out of any profit.

Your sig reminds me of detroit. You hardly can't make a right turn anywhere, you have to make 3 lefts.

(ObPC: Inuit is now the proper term for referring to alaskan natives.)
Go talk to you local geologist and he will explain to you that we are STILL in an ice age right now. Here is some more info.

Crap, no wonder that kid was so happy about buying my bike for $200.

What is heard is more important than what is said.
The point wasn't the interest of the news, it's the SOURCE of the news that makes a difference in how it is portrayed.
