DIGG SUCKS!!!!! Stop trying to become it. Two completely non-nerd non-tech stories in two days.. Things are not looking good here for the future of slashdot. If I want a discussion on the politics of health I will go someplace that discusses that. And for the people going to respond "Don't read it" Digg is our warning. See what happened over there when they started letting these sorts of discussions. For a community forum to remain a place for intelligent dialog it need to remained focused. If we've learned anything from the web, it's that.

  6. Used to be high on digg on How to Stop Digg-cheating, Forever · · Score: 5, Interesting

I was really big on digg back in it's early days. It started as a small community of web devs and techy people. The early digg was dominated by good tutorial, cheap deals, and other stories of interest to web devs. Sadly it quickly went down hill once it became popular. It got overun with myspace kids and weird political conspiracy theorists. By about Sept 2005 Digg was dead. All my friends had left and there are only soo many videos of some dude getting hit in the groin, and so many "Bush is a moron who happens to be an evil genius" that intelligent people can take. Digg is the wasteland of the internet a collection of myspace level users posting stupid content. Intelligent users fled digg over a year ago.

Coorporations more then anyother institutions are working diligently to remove your rights to make you dependent on the coorporation for everything so that a few ultra rich people can make a few more bucks.

But the answer to the problem of abundance is simple. Wait. The rate at which our abundance is destroying the resources that create the abundance will soon lead to scarcity.
Food is a good example. The rate at which farmable land is being destroyed is astronomical. This short sighted consumerist mindset will eventually destroy itself. And like any natural system that grows to large for its resources will be restored to a level of equilibrium. Sad to note that "restored to a level of equilibrium" mean a whole lot of death and horror. But that is what happens when people as individuals and corporate entities don't make moral decisions.
