journalling is there to help provide a safe guard against data loss and corruption. using HFS+ without the journal can be risky - I have experienced problems personally from this - any freeze up, reboot without proper unmounting of the drive, etc and you are in trouble. While I haven't tried NTFS is seems to be the most compatible between OS's, meets your requirements for file size of 80 GB's:

if i ever needed to feel more disenchanted w/ the online world i would be hard pressed to find a time other than now. who created this virus and what their motives are could not be further from relevance. conspiracy theorists would have us pointed towards a dark, clandesteine plot devised by MS to discredit linux, others would have us say that another dark subculture w/in linux created the virus to attack an 'enemy' (one who really represents no logical threat). this should all be deposited firmly in the 'rumours of war' department and not be respected by any rational thinking human being. look. there is no proof or evidence of anything. avoid speculation and remember that a very small handfull of people or a single individual is responsible for this act. no conspiracy exists. and if any lesson should be learned is that we need to review how and why this can occur within the framework of some of our most ubiquitous technology.

It has always been my opinion that major record labels exist to secure more money for themselves so they can make a killing off the next pop star. Up until about 40 years, musicians did not expect to make large sums of money (if any at all) for the recording and selling of an album. In some ways this was because the people charged with making those albums took the money for themselves (we can see where the practice stems from) but the truth is that most musicians expected to make their money playing live and touring. Afterall, if you enter music for money you should expect to work for it. I am a musician myself and the idea of receiving large sums of money for recording an album that only took perhaps a few months to do is a ridiculous notion to me. Music should not be a commodity.
There's a big difference between the HAL computer and software that can read lips. I am surprised though not shocked to see that the analogy was used. After all, HAL was supposedly a thinking entity that taught itself to read lips (we presume in the movie that 'it' was programmed to do so). Where, in this instance, we have a computer being explicitly programmed to read lips.
Another Question: Presuming Neo (or any of the others) had never seen an image of himself before, how did he have an accurate concept of the way he looked before being 'freed' from the matrix? ie: the way he looked in the matrix was exactly the same as the way he looked in 'real life' (aside from the shaved head).
An interesting idea may have been to have the 'sleeper' and the matrix versions look totally different. It would have made more sense. Unless, of coure, it is something to be approached in the sequel.
One of the best developer resource sites I have ever used is www.php.net for the main fact that information is organized and easily accesible. The documentation and comments are well maintained.
being the unlucky sort to have a 'z' in his last name and doing business daily in the US i play a bit of a game when spelling my name. i say it zed (i am not from the US) and wait... i have not once had someone know what i was talking about and always have to repeat the spelling of my name saying zee.
aside from the potential american bashing can someone offer a good explanation as to why this is so? or is it simply that americans (or at least the ones i spell my name to on the phone) actually don't care about what happens in the rest of the world?

Don't carry a cell phone. Progress always comes at a cost.
I don't know why this is scored as 'Funny' - I think this person has a real point.

After reading the GNU announcement Stallman made in '83 I did a quick search for other posts by him around the same time.

Don't you mean:
"Is this the beginning of the end of anonymity in Japan?"
