    "Modern country [music]", isn't that an oxymoron?

    Considering most, if not all, country music played on the radio today is little more than rock/pop with a southern accent and possibly a violin (sorry, fiddle), on occasion, I'd say it's not. I like all kinds of music. But solid body guitars with heavy distortion don't mix well with what I consider to be country music. It's kind of like adding a theremin to an a cappella group. Hell, the Eagles would be considered country music by today's standards.

    The Eagles have always straddled the line between country and rock but their last album (particularly the tracks released as singles) was decidedly leaning more to the country side.
    Probably because rock radio is practically non-existent anymore.

    Unlikely. Syfy prefers animals as the villains of its Saturday-night original movies, not people.

    Now, if it turns out that a shark or octopus (or, even better, both) stole the cobalt-60, then you'l have the network's attention. Expect Sharktopus II: Nuclear Boogaloo any week now.

    So what's that secure operating system again? I used to argue that SE Linux was the only OS that could reasonably called secure, but given the recent NSA revelations I think we're back to nothing. Or are you still complaining about Windows 98?

    SE Linux is secure. It's designed so that the NSA can spy on you but no one else can.

    Most of these are US made, as opposed to GM and Ford which makes their most popular models in Canada and Mexico.

    Not true. Oracle has not been shown to cause cancer.
    On the other hand it is a known contributing factor for alcoholism and depression.

    Check again. Most new cars get 30+ highway mpg today, often with engines capable of over 300 HP. In the 80s that kind of horsepower was usually reserved for heavy duty trucks and exotic sports cars.
    Smaller less powerful cars often reach 40 mpg highway, despite being significantly heavier than their 80's counterparts.
