This (multiplied by everywhere else in the world where there are similar territorial disputes) is why the time zone tool in Windows mo longer shows a map.
I work at a dealership as a tech, and I've asked essentially the same question of the manufacturer. The party line is that field updates to audio systems are problematic mainly due to the internals changing enough over the life of any given audio unit model, and that while doable, the ROI in coming up with an update that's "field-ready" just doesn't make it worth it. They figure swapping with a "remanufactured" unit (one that they've been able to go through and upgrade/replace any problematic subsystems as well as update to the latest "ideal" software configuration) is preferable and more reliable, in general, than releasing a software update that might require a technician to go through and evaluate as go/no go for a given installed unit.
It may sound like a simple thing to send out an update with a USB key and simple instructions on properly evaluating a unit for eligibility prior to upgrade, but trust me on this - in that industry, it isn't. It's difficult enough getting most techs just to avoid ruining the USB *PORT* on the diagnostic laptop...
Ford has updated its infotainment systems by shipping USB drives to customers. Don't tell me that Ford can pull this off and Toyota can't.
Rule1: You brought an inkjet and use it heavily, it would have been cheaper to buy a laser in the long run.
Rule2: You brought an inkjet and rarely use it. You now spend so much on cleaning the heads that a laser would have been cheaper in the long run.
I have in the past owned an inkjet, these days if I want a photograph printing, I use an online photographic printing service and get my prints delivered to my door printed on real photographic paper. By the time you factor in the cost of the printer, inks and paper it works out just the same for a better result.
Also anything without a ethernet port is a piece of junk not worth considering.
I gave up on Epson ink jet printers for this reason. I use a laser printer for most printing and use the inkjet mostly for photos. With Epson printers I would have to thoroughly clean the print heads every time I print so I use more ink cleaning than for printing. I'm using Canon inkjet printers now and the print heads rarely clog even when I go weeks between print jobs.
Maybe I'm more irritated by this than most, but I liked the VS2010 GUI; colorful icons, a relatively smart professional image. With VS2013 they appear to have tried to "geek it up" or something by making all the tool menus have CAPITAL headings which looks fucking retarded, and making most of the items monochrome (what is that, retro?) Apparently they're trying to 'draw my attention' to the code without distracting me with icons that are nice looking and, ya know, give you a clue what the fuck they do. It just looks like a trainwreck. If there's a VS2010 skin, that's the first thing to install.
There is a registry hack to get rid of the dreaded ALL CAPS.
2012 Full: HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\VSWinExpress\11.0\General\\SuppressUppercaseConversion DWORD 1
2012 Express: HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\VWDExpress\11.0\Genera\\SuppressUppercaseConversion DWORD 1
For 2013 replace 11.0 with 12.0.
This is (fortunately) the direction Microsoft is going. In fact the GUI in Windows Server 2012 is a feature that can be removed or installed like any other optional component. In my experience it doesn't normally even require a reboot.
No longer AS addictive. Environment isn't the only factor, otherwise rich people wouldn't become addicts and alcoholics.
If environment were the main factor you could just put people in high priced treatment centers full of waterfalls and back rubs resulting in 100% recovery.
I agree that Rat Park was an interesting experiment but some people tend to take its results and run away with them. Oversimplifying to support their politics.
I submit Lindsey Lohan as evidence, She's quit drugs a bunch of times thanks to the high-priced rehab centers!

As much as we would like to pass off Florida as a Canadian province most non-Americans arent bad enough at geography to fall for it.
Yes. it's that fast.
Risk vs. reward. What have you gained from not wearing seatbelts other than perhaps a few less wrinkles on your clothes?
It actually makes all your MP3s sound like they were recorded by Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Or to use an Americanism, they're either assholes or morons.
Those terms are not mutually exclusive.

I was thinking shark shaped undersea autonomous drones with fricken laser beams.

You underestimate the alcohol tolerance of a typical Russian.
I'll take your word for most of those but I need video proof of the lost Dr .Who episodes.
Too late. NYC has been called "The city that never sleeps" for decades.
As they say on this side of the Atlantic, "If it's not a flag, it's a bomb. "

So you are saying that the hippies are in favor of having a 6000 lb SUV paying the same rate as they do for their Prius?
Oh noes! I had better disable 47 processors and 511 GB on my new Hyper-V server! It should still handle the load of a few dozen VMs right?
WBC is a church in name (and tax exempt status) only. What they do makes baby Jesus cry.
Microsoft is showing restraint with version numbers. I've lost track of what versions Chrome and Firefox are at now.
