    For some people writing software is also about paying the rent and buying food.

    Do a job good enough that people want to pay you and you will be payed, but do shitty work and nobody will want to see you again. My dad always told me that about his construction but it applies here too.

    Aside from that, I agree that this is something that every kid should have. Perhaps it will get them outside looking at the sky instead of inside immersed in some FPS game.

    Hmm an astronomy based FPS where you have to shoot and target certain stars in the night sky actually sounds kinda fun but it would need more elements than "find the star" to do real well. It might be good for kids in areas with large amounts of light pollution.

    I actually did something like that on facebook by giving incorrect feedback on ads and becoming a "fan" of stuff I hate just to see how hard it was to screw up the recomendations.

    It is actually harder than you might think.

    We did that in the labs in high school, failure to lock/logout resulted in (read-only flagged) penis files on the desktop, and we screenshot it and set it as background to make it harder to remove.

    It was immature but kinda fun when you work as TA during a class that has lunch in the middle of class.

    Actually the federal government probably could account for the money its spending, but they like staying in power and nobody really calls them out on it in a way they would be forced to respond.

    But it really is transparent as in you can't see it (mostly because its not there).
