I thoroughly enjoyed BF3 & 4, especially 4. I was hoping for a modern or futurist era update for multiplayer. BF1 was a good game and I did play it for a while.
I went back to BF4 to continue. If/when a viable modern or futurist BF equivalent comes out, I'll give it a go.
It is good for iOS, Android, or web. Passwords available offline or online. Documents online. Can enable two factor authentication - send SMS to phone. http://securesafe.com/ Really good product and very happy with it.
Like most big companies, HP is running out of new CEOs to find 'problems' to correct to 'explain' lack of profit to shareholders. What is fundamentally wrong is that in any given market, costs are likely to go up over time. You cannot sell the same product for the same price over quarters or even years. Technically you get around this by either introducing 'new' products with 'new' features or you pad some aspects of your business from other aspects.
HP has been cutting employee benefits and salaries for going on a decade now. Every quarter they cut to make the profit for the shareholders. At some point this needs a reckoning. That is likely going to be in the near future. The company needs to be split into different divisions to slough off the unproductive components - e.g. IBM getting rid of its computers and laptops division.
You can't be everything to everyone. If you try, you end up disappointing everyone. A CEO can only do so much and good employees will only stay so long until they are forced to find an alternative to save their sanity.
World backup day? How about world test your restore day? All the backups in the world don't mean anything unless you test your restores and know your data.
Try the opposite side of things. I am in what I thought is a good position. I am highly skilled both technically and in the soft skills. Yet all I see is hesitant businesses testing the waters. They pull the pin then pull back. Extremely frustrating. I would like to have a good full time job right now but the proper opportunity has not presented itself. It seems like barriers have been thrown up by business/HR to prevent normal discourse.
True, companies are not mentoring like they used to. This meant a lot to the continuity of the professions. It was a method of giving back and to everyone else. Businesses which don't mentor or give back are just consuming resources. You have to be the judge of that opportunity. I pray I don't have to make that decision to work for a questionable company.
I think businesses are way over thinking their various aspects. Too much analysis means over think. Over think gets you nowhere and wastes money.
Good luck in your search. At some point, if you have the proper work ethic and attitude, your worth will be accepted with open arms.
I second using Tamrac. Had mine for three or four years now. I've put small and large laptops in as well as magazines and iPads. It holds my lenses plus binocs, power cables, etc.
It does get weighty though. It's a good traveling backpack if you have a decent back. If you are not planning to take "everything" where you go, go with a nice small roller for plane trips (holds your laptop and other accessories) and a small shoulder pack for your body and a couple lenses. It really depends how you are going to look at your whole trip.
Keys are supposed to be secure. If you really need it, keep a few critical ones on a small keychain in your pocket and secondary ones on another in a less secure place such as bag, man-purse, etc.
IANAHE (I am not a hydronics expert) but could you not add a closeable loop of copper to your incoming cold water? Unless you are in a hot place, the cold water incoming should be sufficient to cool or at least put some sort of heat exchanger in.
I became very aware of grammar and spelling in high school. To that end I integrated it into my life. Typing has successfully kept my writing messy and I do find myself having to slow down the brain to write some stuff. If you stick to the fundamentals and apply them while typing, you should have no problems. Practice!
Steve's right. All new(er) cameras and camcorders are USB. It sucks... but it's what we got. I'm sure someone will use a USB to Firewire adaptor or hub...

When I was being taught, we were shown how to do algorithms for everyday tasks. What are the steps to show someone how to make a BLT. You get them to start at the beginning but don't tell them. Show them that they must use deductive reasoning and let them learn what assumptions are. If they miss something obvious, ask them - what about x? Also, show them that there is no real one way to do things but there are logical ways of doing certain things better or more efficiently *functions, loops, etc.
Bear in mind that since you are from another country, this does limit you from a security aspect. e.g. no jobs which require high clearance (or would take months to years to happen)
Disillusionment comes in many forms. I believe what you are experiencing is something I am experiencing. A general disappointment with satisfaction of life (probably your career is big in your life right now - so you focus on it).
Take a step back and really look at all aspects of your life and what you derive satisfaction from. Take a determined step to be positive every day. This won't solve a problem but will arm you with the attitude to continue to do your best at all aspects of your life.
You may find another career path is warranted. That takes planning and time. You can engineer a change to make as much or as little impact to your family. Discuss the change with your spouse and see how different scenarios would affect both yourself and your family. You may find that sacrificing those Starbuck coffees can save you a lot of money.
Life is about change. You should embrace your understanding of yourself and all around you. You will then have all the tools you need to make those big decisions with your spouse in a more informed manner.
Trust me, went through this with my wife. As much as I prepared her for even just a job change, she still had doubts. You have to tackle those head on or it'll cause stress.
Proper planning and saving will give you the freedom to explore more options. Again, be positive every day and look at it as an opportunity. Do your best with consideration for your relationships. Love your family. Family counts and you would be surprised where you can pull support from (parents, spouse, siblings, siblings of spouse, friends, etc) - use it.
I love it when spin doctors change the reality of the situation. From an economics standpoint, if there is no supply (e.g. meeting market demands with new product and services - how long have we been asking for newer methods to access and enjoy our entertainment ) then how on earth do you expect demand to come into play?
I have always wanted to buy cool things... I reward convenience with my cash. I reward innovation with my cash. I reward customer service with more cash than if I find a cheaper competing product or service.
If a company didn't respond to market changes in the past, it was called incompetence and the management was fired. These days it seems like the short term desire for quarterly profits blinds people to that.
As I said, you can spin the results any way you want. What makes the money is selling what people want.
It sounds like you are not feeling satisfied with yourself. I suggest doing some thinking about what drives you... what's your passion?
It could be you like a certain industry... like volunteering... like a group of people or respect a certain person or cause. I suggest considering those first and seeing how you can fit in. Worry less about what the techie side is (which you know you can do anything) and think more on what makes you happy.

I want to know how many NOC and IT folks are in that study... Perhaps a disproportionate amount?

Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard...
Hold down the Apple key and scroll your mouse wheel.. voila.. instant zoom in/zoom out.

Shouldn't need to use the concrete.

Politically Correct - Because when everybody is happy, nobody is happy!
From the root Latin word:
ignotus : unknown, obscure, ignorant, ignoble

That... is priceless. An eloquent use of a company's copyright which actually is based on fair use... wonderful!
I am not sure if this will work but one thing Government could do is give a tax credit for gym and/or club memberships which promote activity.
Mind you... that's a theory totally depending on whether or not someone wants a zero-sum dollar benefit (let alone the health benefits).
I'll tell you what he is doing... he's storing 5GB of presentations and all the joke videos he's been sent.
Dear lord if SOX has taught us anything is that you can't keep that stuff!
Lol.
Now if only I had thought of a way to talk to my wife but once a month!!!

This sounds vaguely like the Amiga platform of years past (with a fervent following today still)... how innovative to copy someone else!
I suggest that if you do not have a proper UPS/power conditioner that you look into getting one. A lot of electronic problems come from bad power.
