At a previous job I was almost converted from a hourly w2 contractor to a *salaried* contractor. He's what it meant in my situation.
current: 50/hr no bennies/health ins/vacation/sick time
proposed: 1920 week (48/hr), 2 weeks vacation, health ins, sick days
in the current, if I worked a 41st hour I would get $50; in the second I would make $48. So I guess it was salary with overtime pay. From my understanding, this is a common practice.
In the late 90's I was working in WCOM's manageded services (building / maintaining netview maps / servers). We had many large customers. One was Cisco. Cisco was, in fact, offering a service with it's products, that is, some sort of monitoring [here's the funny part] AT&T bought a slew of equipment from Cisco, getting this service, which we eneded up monitoring.
For those not in the know. WCOM & AT&T are the Ford & General Motors of the data line world.
If I were to do this, I would look into an older, low end PBX, where yo can set a default confrence call mode; then just stream the output to a traditional radio transmitter.
I can't wait for all the bathroom noises, slanderous statements, not to mention the "F*CK YOU" callers.
who realizes the FBI is really, really busy these days?
Besides, why worry about the CEO's lawyer? He would only be concerned with prosecution of a civil (read $$) case, or defending a case against his client. It would be up to the FBI to prosecute any criminal case.
You may want to snail-mail a letter of position to the FBI, stating your side of the case. "I was sitting in my living room, watching TV, then the phone rang..it was this nut claiming to be some big important business guy, saying I sent him a virus." Blablabla.."Maybe this is related to the Nigerian Money Scam?"
Put lots of contact info, they will (if anything) do a brief check, maybe make a call or two, and close the case.
I was investigated once, I was relaxed & honest and the whole thing was over in 15 minutes.
PC... isn't it so we can (get/write) software to do these things? So we don't need a different system to do simular things?
hm..

then, maybe, I can get a patent to control the stupid things that come out of your mouth?
After that, get laws passed to halt gravity

You should need less manpower on a daily basis, not more. If you need more manpower (after it is integrated) you chose poorly.

The doctors think there is something in the adhesive of the duct tape, which triggers a humans antibodies which attack the warts.
In fact, it seems to cure all warts, not just those covered by duct tape.
The directions were, cut a small piece of DT to cover the wart: (a) 6 days on; (b) 1 day off (c) repeate for a month or two.
Evidently parents really like this cus the duct tape is cheap and *stays on*.
my prediction is already comming true!
More Layoffs at Lucent
It says this is for digital projectors? I thought most theatres were 70mm (or 35mm) analog?
Am I missing something?

Just like the Ford Motor Company ...oh wait
"God is the only form of extraterrestrial life that we could ever possibly communicate with. SETI is a joke, people."
SETI may be a joke, but calling God an extraterrestrial life form is even funnier.
I don't think God falls under *any* definition of life form.

Um, in USA anyway, all doctors carry malpractice Ins which would probably cover $1-10M dollars pretty easily.
If the doctor or his machine did screw up, even accidentially, the Ins Co would be falling over themselves to settle with you.
With a good lawyer, you could probably afford a Seeing-Eye-Playboy-Playmate for life.

Telling about the early resignation of the author of the previous memo.
My friend put his lappy on an x-ray belt, and before he could get thru some joker tried to run off with it.
He yells "Hey, he's stealing my lapptop" and all the security guys run and grab the guy.
My friend made the comment that security didn't search any of his stuff. and a few people slipped thru. Thiw was in the US, durring the summer.
