You need some sample code to give to prospective employers so that they can see that you know what you're doing.
Create some sort of GUI- and OO-based app that loads entries from a database (across many tables).
Make sure you can add, delete and update records.
Make sure you can write selected records to a textfile at a location the user chooses.
Make sure you can draw reports from it and save it to textfile or CSV.
Oh, and to make sure they know you've got 1337 skillz, add a hidden game of pong. (java 2D graphics)
Luckily you have a few months to write and perfect your code before you have to submit it to a prospective employer.
I'd recommend am embedded database, such as H2, so your sample code doesn't require the viewer to install anything.
Remember:
1) If in doubt, you can still ask your lecturer||[insert objTeacher here]. Use them while you can.
2) Google is your best friend
As a South African with a very limited and unstable connection, games using this draconian system will prove (almost) impossible to play.
Not to mention the fact it will eat my limited cap.
I call for a boycott of Ubisoft until they remove this ridiculous system.
I live in the South-end of South Africa where the temprature ranges from about 15C (Mid-winter average) to 35C (Mid-summer average).
Some places have aircon.
Central heating and double-glazing are myths invented by tourists.
When it gets warm, we sit around in a cool spot and drink beer and white wine. When it gets cool we sit inside around the fireplace and drink red wine and spirits.
And people wonder why I have a monstrous CPU-cooler on my pc...
And what about Zimbabwe? There is tangible evidence (Photos, videos, witness accounts, missing opposition leaders and members, etc) of tyranny, oppression and gross human rights violations but the US is not helping them. If Zimbabwe suddenly discovered oil reserves within their borders, the US would invade them in an instant under the guise of 'removing the yolk of tyranny and oppression from the people of Zimbabe'.
Send it to North Africa.
Not much there besides a big sandy desert that would benifit from being glassed over.
Besides, the dust that would be launched into the air would be the perfect countermeasure against global warming.
With what money?
While I do not condone naval piracy, these guys pirate because they cannot find any other way to keep their stomaches full.
I simply cannot see the pirates spending their precious food money on "water jet propulsion boats", nor can I see anyone selling the boats to the pirates.
I've noticed many programmers, including myself, act completely illogically outside of work (and on breaks). My personal theory is that everyone has a finite amount of logic, some more than others, and coders use up most of theirs at work. Hence acting wierd and illogically away from their computers.
Maybe that's why one cannot code some days. The Logic Reserve is depleted.
Talk of adaptive AI for games is all well and good, but I see no talk of the amount of CPU power and RAM something like this could take.
If you had to analyze the PC's playing style, it could degrade perfomance by a large amount, especially if the player happens to play erratically.
It would probably end up being another thread in the game, but when does it end?
Sure we will have Massively multi-core CPU's in future, but what about the averge gamer of now with a dual, or quad-core CPU?
And what happens if the player does not react in a way the programmer resposible for the analysis program responds? How is the analytical engine going to handle that?
Congress has a longer memory than you think. Especially when you OWE them cash.
FTFY.
I hate to break it to you, but it sounds like the headaches are caused by Capsicum/endorphin withdrawl...
>Headache starts
>Eat chilli
>Headache stops
>Body goes into withdrawl
>Headache starts
etc...
I read manuals, you insensitive clod!
They've saved my career many times already.
Summary, anyone? >.>
When the word "Replayability" is brought up, I think of Oblivion. What a brilliant game that was (with a plethora of mods running).
What I do not want to see is another Titan Quest. The mindless, repeating grinding really gets to me.
11.04 Nasty Newt
One problem: people in Africa don't tend to work as hard as people from the Far East, making it cheaper to keep it there.
Nature also exists in Bears and I don't see you hugging bears...

($2.96/gallon||R6.00/litre)? I'd love to pay such low prices!

Do they come with sonic blasters to counter the laser-sharks?
3 or 4 games?
Obviously you have never installed Crysis...
I have yet to find a game based on a movie that hasn't sucked.

Methinks petitionOnline is about to be flashmobbed, if not slashdotted
Which lawmaker (or a family member) owns a share in the company that provides this coating?

Dungeon Keeper MMO.
The only problem is the arguments over who geets to be the Horned Reaper and who gets to be the Keeper...
