I for one had never heard of "Chamillionaire" until this article. Why site these specific items? It's almost as if they WANT me to go download it! Which I won't because piracy is bad bad bad. Everyone knows Ninja's are where it's at these days.
I forsee the future, and it is bleak. What's next, Cory Sherman for President??

My experience in this 65 year old apartment building is that the copper wire here won't support DSL above 4 megabits. I recently switched to cable internet (Comcast, Maryland) and saw a huge increase in available bandwidth. They originally promised a higher upload speed (I apparently purchased 6/384 and thought I was getting 6/768) and when I called to inquire I was offered 8/768 for 10$ more a month.
I'm able to pretty much get full speed out of my connection, but most of the times when I do speed tests on say Speakeasy.net or through other test sites, I frequently get reports that indicate half of my potential speed. I have been wondering if perhaps these tests are not very accurate at all, and would suggest connecting to a nice fast torrent to get a feel for how fast your connection is.
Yes, it provided much info. Unfortunatly, the story you linked has nothing to do with this zero-day exploit, nor are there any references that I can find to it in any thread on your link. So do you mind enlightening me as to what you are talking about? Otherwise I shall ignore you and call you Troll.
This statement is incorrect, and I suppose it was meant to be sarcasm of some sort, however my sarcasm detector is having a glitch. The exploit does not care what make or model the computer is, only that it is running MS Office.
They don't need to. The porn will automatically start downloading in the background about 10 minutes after you connect it to the internet for the first time. It's so simple it's stupid! Much like my comment.
I bet Microsoft hires the Red Hot Chili Peppers to promote Vista. "I like pleasure spiked with pain and Vista is my Aero-plane... Is my Aero-plane..."
Currently, telecommunications falls under one of the electronic mediums where the healthcare information obtained via said service must be protected. If the goverment goes and records all the telecommunications going between say a hospital and a pharmacy, would that be a violation of HIPAA?
The last paragraph is rather telling of the reason why Microsoft is in this mess in the first place. I remember when I found out that they were bundling a Firewall with Windows XP. Did they think that going to a more "root" oriented system would cause too many headaches for the end user? I imagine it was more along the lines of "We'll do something about it in the next version" syndrome. Regardless, that was the day I decided to start looking at an alternative operating system.
I never was succesful getting my Nextel to work with my laptop with one of these. Even still, i'm under the impression that the data transfer rate would have been 9600 baud which is pretty slow compared with 3g. Good alternative though.
Yes, in fact Apple did this last year with their Mac Mini computers http://www.thinksecret.com/news/0509macmini2.html however the upgrade has never been officially announced on their website. The other day I called up the local apple store and they said they are now selling the upgraded mini. At first you could only purchase an upgraded mini through the online Apple store. The general consensis I've seen is that they just wanted to clear out G4 cpu inventory, and this is how they did it.
I've since ditched the idea of buying a mini to upgrade my P4 (the girl at the apple store called the mini "a pc for grandma's") especially now that I'm seeing G5 Powermac's for only $400+ more. I feel it's worth it to be able to upgrade just about everything (except the logic board and chip) rather then be locked into an outdated CPU/Video Chipset.
Exactly. And what happens when FF crashes due to a badly coded page, not only do you lose your browsing session but your torrent stops. The only cool thing about this will be having a torrent in a tab. I can see using it for stuff under 50MB or so but anything bigger I'd want a standalone client like uTorrent.
As an artist, I hope this becomes a trend where music companys realize that our music is art and not just small green pieces of paper. I'm glad that this guy got an apology!
About a dozen years ago Mcdonald's did a campaign with video tapes, something like buy a meal and get a movie for $2.99 (I watched The Adam's Family about 1000 times as a result). I wonder if they ever tried the same concept with DVD's? It seem's a heck of a lot easier for the consumer, and you'd still have people returning to the store to get another DVD.

Um, you do realize that you said you didn't want mods to waste their points, and yet you call for your own post to be modded down, therefore wasting the mods points. I thought your post was perfectly fine meself;)
Of course I meant Cary Sherman. Stupid Vowels...

Works for me, anyway.

I'm curious what ramifications this will have on HIPAA? http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/finalreg.html

World of Warcraft running on multiple monitors is not supported and I have yet to see it done.
Allthough I heard Chuck Norris once did it.
