They have a cool monthly plan where you pay only 566 dollars a month, 288 required hours of slave work from your children and your soul. I figure I can get this baby easy.
Often, companies will be unwilling to sell heavily copyrighted materials if they think it'll hamper sales so much.
But if they slap it on an N'Sync CD, which, whether you like it or not, is going to get a large amount of CDs bought, they can always use the CD sales and say "Hey, we had copyright protection and the consumer liked it. Lets go ahead and put it on everything."
In the recent trend to link everything to Osama Bin Laden, many officals believe the Enigma was being used by Bin Laden as described before as his "High Tech Cryptography" that he switched to after he found out the US was monitoring his satellite phone conversations.
If they need subcategories, let them get subdomain names. All in the.edu range. Therefore, if lets say columbia wanted a specific domain for it's law program, it'd be law.columbia.edu.
Reasons why they should stick to.edu:
1) It makes things less confusing. When you want to find your college on the web, you'll basically enter it's name and clip on.edu with suprising accuracy, even if a few name variation attempts are needed.
2) They're educational, not commercial. They're not an organization, really. That's like the government wanting all forms of they're domain, when they have.gov for that very purpose. If collegs are allowed to get other domain names, then the next domain name I want is neema.edu.

Not only will many artists still be making sure they're not on napster, but napster will fail once again due to the fact while it'll be a paid only music software, while software such as audiogalaxy and software that allows downloads of files and videos and all that, such as morpheus are now reigning all popular.
However, now that the recording companies are able to make a profit out of napster, perhaps they'll pursue morpheus, audiogalaxy and all these other companies to make sure that napster is unrivaled.
This is a chance for alot of politics to do things they always wanted to.
One of these things is what is described here.
Also, some law written in the 70s (I believe) stated that America can not legally issue assasination orders. They want to repeal that.
Also, they wnat to make phone tapping much easier. The law right now is you have to not only get a warrant to tap a phone, but you can't monitor a person, just a specific phone line.
And finally, all military upgrades are going to be majorily supported by the public (can you see more republican support?) in the near future.
Check out this link for more info. This one is from MIT (quite a bit old, but it's still interesting read). And then of course there is the Humanoid Project.
Just got back from talking to my friend who, in between downing as many beers as he could, told me about how worried about he was about his dad. Let me tell you what's happening with this, it's really odd for me.
First off, my friend, Adam, is a HUGE guy. Always been able to shrug off any hit he's been given and it's odd to see him so thrown off track. His dad is even bigger then him, one of the scariest guys I know.
Anyway, so this guy is a firefighter. Part of a group called S.O.C., which I forget what it stands for, but basically it amounts to him being part of a special squad, the first to get in to evacuate a burning building and the last to get out. So, as things go, the entire S.O.C. group that Adam's dad is in dies when they're trying to evacuate the second building and it collapses... minus Adam's dad and his best friend.
So now, every building that's burning and close to collapsing has to quickly be checked for people trapped in there. Which means every collapsing building is the possibility of his father dying.
At the same time, his sister has friends over. She's laughing and having fun with them, to which Adam goes up, threatens all her little boyfriends and tells her "Listen, the least you can do is respect the man who's house you live under." and she just doesn't understand.
Either way, man... I feel for that kid.
This is weird.
Worst of all though, is the glances I'm getting. With a name like Neema, it's not difficult to figure out I have a bit of middle eastern in me (I'm Turkish/Mongolian/Iranian) and people don't seem to distinguish the differences between me and the rest of the terrorists. I've already received glances and a few racist remarks... I'm interested to see what develops for me.
Last night took my girlfriend out to dinner and a movie. Dinner cost 72 dollars and the movie was about 23. This is just a fraction of the expenses I always pay on this girl.
Robot Girlfriend, however, will sit at home until I return from where ever I was having fun...
"Aren't almost all police cars these days equipped with video cameras that record everything occuring in front of the car?"
Yeah, it's been a real hassle for the police people. Now they have to drag the innocent victim to the back of the car before they deliver a savage beating.
Even if America's awareness on this situation increases... how much of a difference will this make? Right now, America has the #1 waste and carbon emission position on earth, but most experts predict that in 10 years that'll all change. Developing countries are developing at an alarming rate and China will soon have a more detrimental standpoint then America.
And even though the majority of Americans are ignorant, it'll still be a much easier job to raise awareness here then in a country like China. There are a whole lot more people there and there are some parts of the country that totally lack education.
My worry right now is soil errosion. Our rate of soil errosion far exceeds the rate that nature can provide soil. This is mostly due to lack of education in the agriculture society on this matter which makes me laugh that a 16 year old knows about it, but farmers are ignorant to the problem. Crop rotation and new ways of plowing fields are both suggest solutions that allow nutrients to be evenly distributed in the land and also allows land to rejuvenicate itself.
The problem isn't the environment itself, it's educating people about it. In fact, education people period is a problem.
How about if we just start letting the Government give roll call every night to see where we are? Or we can implant a tracking device in our heads and that way, we'd always be safe.
It's not a matter of feeling more secure or not... it's a matter of invasion of privacy. I am willing to risk a dangerous situation while knowing that I'm not giving 100% of the information on myself. Take for example, if Governments wanted to map your brain patterns. This could be plausible eventually and of course would lead to them knowing who would be likely to commit a crime, etc, but I wouldn't want my brain patterns mapped simply because there are some things I want to keep to myself.

"Oh this won't hurt anyone, and saving that extra 'OK' click will be great!". "
Knowing Microsoft, even when it does ask you to execute the file, the only option it'll give is "OK".

This may work both ways. It is possible that they take this as reward for what they have done, or giving in to their "power".
Reportedly, the two people that wanted to rip the CD were disappointed.

Hey, they just brought back Outlaw Star which has a fair amount of violence in it.
I really think that speculation is wrong.
This website has many images of the disaster from space. Out of all the images, I found this one the most disturbing.
I know this is really off topic, but as a suggestion:
I really don't like the new google slashdot function. The last way of dealing with searches was musch easier and effective.

What if the Bid for Power guys said that the video game wasn't based on Dragonball Z in the USA, but in Japan?
*after 48 minutes of trying to read article* but... what... if... you're.... a slow.... reader?
But how come no one makes the seat that everyone loves internet accessible? I'd be on the toilet and on the internet a whole lot more then on a bench.
