My neighbor up the hill still has his SprintBroadband connected! They only offered it in Oklahoma City for 2 months in 2001. The guy came out and put up a antenna on a 30 foot pole and stood on top of my house and still could not get a signal. If they still offered it I would have put up a 100 foot radio tower just to get it.
There may come a time when you have to goto mexico to buy all you're DVD players, recorders, and blank discs. I wonder how this effects legitimate data backup and recording of non-DRM video sources like home movies?
That's part of what led to the downfall of iRMX (Intel real-time operating system). We ended up porting all of our Pascal code to Kylix to reduce costs of hardware and software. You just gotta love capitalism when it's allowed to work.
DLPs have been around for a few years in front projectors for presentations. They offer about 10 times the conrast ratio and pixel speed of LCD projection. This is due to the fact that DLPs use tiny mirror to actually switch each pixel in and out of view. LCD are just light filters and leak even at full black.
There are two more new display technologies that will gain on these in a few years: Field Emision Display (FED) and Organic Light Emmiting Diodes (oLED).
Yes but it is cheaper to replace a 700Mb CD than a 756MB flashcard.
I convert all my audio books to MP3-CDs so that I can listen to them on long trips with out changing CDs all the time. I have found that at 96kbs you can get about 20Hrs on one $0.25 CD-r. Its also good for mowing the 4 acres of yard I have.
Joe Sixpack gets very excited about the cool graphics on the Football Game. He also likes the recliner with built in mini-fridge, bet them foriegners don't have that!
Joe also gets technology edication on American Chopper.
I wonder if it's to late for a CD based Ipod. The store shelves seem to be full of $50 CD players that can play MP3s and WMAs. There is even a Sony one that can play ATRAC files. My new Mustang has a MP3-CD player as a base level stereo. Is the CD-MP3 player out of style or just overlooked? Ok now talk amongst yourselves
1) Signup online for service (may 2001)
2) DSL modem arrives in mail one week later
3) Call in to activate. no worky!?!
4) Go through a month of calls to various tech support types and sub-contractors of SBCs. They removed load coils and some other crap. They then figure out I'm to far from the only CO in the area. Never recieved a bill.
5) Packed up DSL modem and threw in on a shelf where it still sits to this day.
Still have second phone line for 24/7 connection at 33.6. Welcome to the Internet Gravel Road.
The only way to get content for your CD player is to only use services that allow CD burning like Napster-lite. Then you can rip them back to MP3 and you always have a backup copy thats not DRMd.

The smart field mice hear the combines coming and run for the woods. Then the owls eat the slow mice. The mice that survive are the smart-fast mice.
I for one would like to welcome our new Smart-Fast Mice Overlords

As Viagras biggest consumer, Bill's tired of being both Micro and Soft 8^)
It's too bad that foreign governments bad mouth the US but then freely enjoy a service intended for the US military 8^0

Those will be superceded by the E-RAY. That E as in Electron. Should be good for about 4TBs.
You could always record as a voice memo and have your PC convert on sync. Always proff-red id trough.
Sounds like something Burt Gummer came up with a few years ago.
