Are they really selling perminant liscenses?

I thought that Russian law included wire as a type of broadcast (like cable), and the loophole is that internet is being included this way too. So sending be an mp3 is like me tuning the raidio to your station.

AllOfMP3 is essentially an internet raidio station. They are not selling liscenses, and it is just a side effect of their broadcast methd that you get a perminant copy.

Just my understanding, probably not true.

The real disgrace of DUI checkpoints is that the politicians brag about the non-DUI arrests they get. As if somehow I should be happy that they are using the checkpoints as an excuse to ignore the 4th amendment. I don't really see how the courts allow these checkpoints, but shame on them for doing it. Somehow people are willing to submit though, I can only imagine the uproar if they started pulling people over for no reason, but when it is orderly people don't seem to care.

The days when unions could expect to have substantial representation in the House seem to be over.

The unions are not just losing it in the house, they are also losing it with the public. Unions are slow to adapt (like the record infustry) and have thought hey have their place in principal the large mega-unions of today are not what we need. In the auto industry the unions hurt productivity, not just improve wages and benfits. Thge non-unionised Japanese car manufacturers pay as much and have layed off far less, partly due to better design, but also due to higher productivity achieved by the novel idea of letting people due what needs to be done, rather than only one specific job. If Honda needs more Civics and less Accords they use the smae people doing different jobs, if GM needs more Cobolts and less Jimmys they are stuck with people twiddling thumbs. I would take better pay and job security over a severance as the business model of my employer colopses.

FWIW, my personal experiance with unions has been bad. I worked at a supermarket and after union dues I was with less than minimum wage. But fortunatly, for my money I was assured that I would not get a better position or a raise unless I was the most senior employee in my position. At the same time my friend was working 20 minutes away for 30% more and no union dues.

We may need unions, but not the ones we have.

PS. I am not anti union, just think the ones we have are getting what they had coming to them.

AI in Alpha centuri was CRAP!

I am not great at those games and I could dominate on the hardest levels. At one time I was receiving future techs every turn. Also the different people were not balanced at all, and the unit builder too exploitable. Later units were just too powerful too.

I think Civ4's use of abilities vs seperate attack and defense makes the smaller variety of units much more interesting, and more than minorly tweaks the game play. I also think the agression based on proximity is a little too high, or perhaps should just be reversed for agacent democracies. But overall I find the difference is huge.

Also I am not too much a graphics whore (I still play Xcom), but I find the polished 3D look of Civ4 to make the game more playable (of course it is frustrating when my fairly new card choked some on the huge maps).

Pirates! is a game I would describe as minorly tweaked, Civ4 is a pretty serious gameplay change.
