Computer science, electrical engineering, biotech; all of these are being outsourced as well, and not just at the bottom level, but all the way to the PhD level. When an entire field of study is made unavailable due to a lack of jobs, the country as a whole suffers from a complete lack of expertise in coming years. Why buy the latest software development system, if there will never be a paying opportunity to use it. For that matter, who will have money to buy anything if nobody has a job. The economic figures show an expanding economy, but only when corporate profits are taken into account. If you exclude corporate figures, which are predominantly external to this country, your get that dismal sinking feeling. The economy is degrading at a horrific rate, and is only being supported by the low price of products coming entirely from outside the US. How many people do you know who are out of work? If you take the number of people you know, even remotely, determine the percentage which are unemployerd due to outsourcing, the number will be larger than you expect.
All around, corporations should be required to comply with all of the laws an individual must follow, and one of those is multi-nationals. An indiviual cannot work against the financial or military success of its parent nation without serious repurcusions, it's called treason. A multinational corporation, has no such restriction, they may sell weapons to whomever they want, as long as they are not on a short list of outright enemies. They can send jobs anywhere, and destroy an economy with a single selfish action. Entire wars have been fought to increase thier profits, with no military or financial advantage to the countries waging the war. If the really want to have the advantage of being "incorporated", ie: made flesh, they need to have the consequenses as well.

She programs, scripts, and does linux, and she learned it in the '90s, all by herself. The age limit is really an HR ploy to keep older people off of the rolls because by the age of 40, most people actually have families, and the health and time expenses that go with them. It can be shown with any number of studies, that as long as the mind is stimulated, it continues to learn at a consistent rate until death.

I find your figures on crime in the FBI rather dubious as well. For one tenth of FBI officials to be corrupt, a general acceptence of corruption would have to be in the culture of the organization. Wait unitl the companies which paid the Indian firms discover the inevitable: Those outsourcing firms will stop delivering product to their US parents, but instead will deliver product directly to customers. Think about it: These companies have the customer lists (through IT and helpdesk support contracts), they have the product technology (through programmer outsourcing), and they have the legal system (through supporters like Kennedy and Gephardt). They have all of the peices of the puzzle nescessary to bypass the managers in the US firms and suffer few setbacks. Who did it to the American engineer? MBA graduates who operate on short-term, proactive principles, and not people who have the training and skills to KNOW what it takes to keep a company in green more than a few years. It's only a matter of time until the whole thing plays out.
The Indian and Chinese government actively lobbies US congessmen for policies which help the outsourcing firms and hurt the US derived corporations. It's time we fired those moles and get back to doing what is good for our country.
Entirely correct. Long-term planning seems to be a standard deffect in MBA programs these days. Some of this is driven by stock-holder lawsuits and moronic analysts, but the majority is due to short term goal projections which create an 18 month economic slinky effect.
Unlike the US, where corporations actually exist, in China most successfull companies are operated under direct control from the central government, and are merely different faces to the same man eating monster.
