    Hey, not everyone knows what a footnote is! But seriously, I think you should focus your resentment on your ex-employer. The ones that came up with the idea of replacing local manpower with cheaper peers overseas are the companies. If you offer them a good salary (for their standards) why would they refuse it?

    But isn't what you describe just statistical analysis rather than actual AI? Data processing is not AI per se. However, I do agree with you that the consensus within Slashdot community seems to be that the only valid kind of AI is the one that gains self-awareness and start killing its creator.

    At this rate, if we (humans) don't exterminate ourserlves before, we will eventually end up creating machines that will be better than humans in every aspect. What will happen then? If I were a machine, I'd get a human pet.

    Not more intelligence. You just have to work more and figure out how to solve more problems, that's all. That doesn't mean you are more intelligent than people living under, let's say, less harsh conditions.

  22. What are you talking about? Vaadin was published in 2002 and Struts 2 came out in 2005. Besides, I'm just saying that Vaadin is an option, that's all.
