Well, they voted for him, so whether they want such changes or not, they've agreed to them. And the reverse is true - just because someone voted for McCain doesn't mean they didn't want the changes Obama is promising. Maybe they just didn't want a black guy as president.

Having said that, Obama is young, charismatic, and is promoting the change that 18.8% of Americans did not want.

There, fixed that for ya. America has a population of ~305,621,847. 57,434,084 (which is 46% of the popular, not 48%, by the way) voted for McCain. 57,434,084 / 305,621,847 = 18.8%. Aside from the 21.4% who voted Obama, we can't really know what the other ~60% of the American population thinks. And if you want to adjust the numbers based on the voting age population only, check this link here.

Hmmm, I missed the part where "illegal activities" was the stated reason for dropping USENET. I just kind of figured they see the economy is taking a shit and are looking for ways to cut costs. Dropping a little used service that is freely available elsewhere seems to be a good start.

Indeed! There's been a recent string of incidents reported of rogue, black-hat office admins maliciously filling their bosses' calendars with meetings HE NEVER AUTHORIZED, yet was forced to appear at, even if no one else was there! And some execs were reprimanded - even dismissed - because they couldn't provide sufficient evidence that they were not the person who authorized such meetings. It chills the spine to think of how much executive time is being wasted through an easily patched exploit such as this, and of how many lives are thrown into chaos in the aftermath.
