I don't get how this is a valid use of DRM at all!

The point of returning a book to a library was so that someone else could read it because it was physically back at the library. With audio books or e-books that is NO LONGER NECESSARY! 1e10 people could check out the same book at the same time and that one copy on the library server would be sufficient! It's just BITS!

I can see using DRM for a commercial bookstore where you had to have a monthly membership or something but NOT A PUBLIC LIBRARY!!!

your channels are digital because you have satellite but that is not true of cable. channel 32 on any cable system in the country is analog until the FCC rules for carriers and their analog distribution change. once they release cable providers from having to provide these analog channels then you will probably get digital hbo on channel 32 over cable but not until then.

  16. Re:Four letters on 12/7 and Overtime on a Salary? · · Score: 1

I stuck it out for 3 years with a company that cared nothing for my mental/physical well being but they talked a good game. I got one raise while I was there but I was given all kinds of flack about using my vacation time while I routinely worked 55 to 70 hours a week. Finally, after 3 years of hard work I was fired with no explanation and 3 weeks severance. I should have saved up more money but I was still recovering from my divorce.

Lesson Learned: If your boss is only concerned with the bottom line, eventually you will be viewed only as an expense, not a human being. Save up and get out. Find something you can do that makes you happy. You spend a lot of time at work, don't be miserable most of your life.

It works out very well for both the client and the sponsor because they both get lots of eyeballs on their brand for less money.

Granted, the games we develop aren't console games or PC games but it's a similary concept. It reduces the price for the person who pays us to build the game instead of reducing the price for the end user.
