I had a week long class at Apple with him as the instructor for Mac OS X Server/Mac OS X integration [back in the 10.2 days]. His knowledge of NeXT is excellent.
Can't get Disc1.iso to mount in OS X or work in a NFS install. Pulled the corrupted Disc1.iso down from bittorrent and the fedora site. Downloading the DVD.iso using bittorent right now...
Now with FC 4, looks like there will be support [finally?] for Power/PowerPC systems [like the Mac mini mentioned in the article]. Guess this puts YellowDog's FC 2 based distro in jeopardy.
Has anyone tested the latest development of FC 4 for Power/PowerPC? Judging by the boot.iso in the images directory, it looks like it only works on NewWorld ROM based PowerMac and iMac systems...
On a side note, I've been running Ubuntu [Warty] on an older graphite iMac, and have been impressed by it's ease of setup and use... But if this article is true, and after some testing of FC 4 for Power/PowerPC, Ubuntu might be replaced with FC 4.
...with an estimated ship date of 02-18-05. This morning after the announcement from the order status page.

W00T!
I've ordered system before on the verge of an announcement of new Apple systems. When the order arrived, it was the newer announced system, with slight upgrades from the original order.
Looking forward to some PowerBook G4 goodness! Way freakin' cool!
With the LoTR trilogy being mostly done with a Linux render farm, and I was estatic to hear that Skycaptain was done with G5s. This movie DOES look awesome.
Guess I should have prefaced this with: While my wife and I [both Apple fans]...
While my wife and I were at Wondercon in SF back in April, they had a special presentation of Skycaptain and The World of Tomorrow. The director and producer were there to answer questions after the 8 minutes of footage that were shown. Good stuff, especially since most all of the work was done using PowerMac G5s.

My wife and I just had our little girl last Monday. It's been a week now, and for those of you who have gone through these first few days/weeks, there really isn't any sleep. I just got Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic last weekend. As addicting as that game is, it's a great distraction for my wife so she can sleep. While I am playing, I have my little girl in my lap fast asleep while my wife tries to catch up on some much neglected sleep. Since she normally sleeps for about an hour or so, I try to keep our little girl asleep or distracted as much as possible. And what better way than to play a game that can get you sucked in for hours on end AND also act as a relief mechanism for your SO?

Have some tact in your posts rikomatic, not everyone believes that rodents are vermin and not worth more than a mine detection "device". I went through some training classes from LinuxCertified before. At the time I was still some what new to linux and the instructors of the class were very informative and had been using linux for a while. There was also a free laptop included with the cost of the class. It was an old refurbished Pentium II IBM Thinkpad, but it was handy at the time, and still is as a crash-n'-burn test laptop. I've upgraded the RAM and the hard drive to 20GB. I get occasional time errors on boot up, but that is because of the battery that is dying and I'm to lazy to replace it. Overall a good company. Worth checking out...

My Dad just recently got DSL [much to my Mom's delight], and wanted to cancel his AOL account that he's had for about 7 years. He cancels his account, and was told that effective May 1st that the account would no longer be active. After the first, I don't know why my Dad did this, but he tried to log on again to AOL. Much to his suprise, he was able to log in. He called AOL, and wanted to know why his account was still active since it was supposed to be terminated on the first. The rep told him that they keep the account active for up to 6 months, in case the user "wants" to come back.....has anyone else ever heard of this? Or is AOL pulling my Dad's leg?
When I first read the title of this article, I misread it as "Mind Control Parasites in Half-Life"...
Industrial Billionaire with massive weapons contracts, how was he forgotten?
...I thought it read "20 Lawnmowers Want to Kill Your Television".
Might as well be the same thing...?
What's a sort year? And what's this Windowsz 95 thing?
Tarbosh is one of his handles/aliases. Here and here somewhat prove that. He has posted some hints before on Mac OS X Hints.

Since Firefox for Mac is similar to the Windows version, where is this accelerator for Mac? Safari might be a different beast though...
It's dead Jim.
Guess EVERYBODY had to see if it was real or not.
