  1. Evolving Industry on Cliff Bleszinski: Vote With Your Dollars · · Score: 1

The gaming industry is changing. Every one of the major players is trying to find a way to change with it and are taking different paths to find out which works and which doesn't work doesn't make them evil or good.. They are just trying to find a way to produce games and be profitable is the goal, they are forcing you to anything (which would be evil). So, what's happening is what you should WANT to happen.

What does vilifying those that have a different viewpoint accomplish?

This article was written by people just barely technologically literate so I'll give another vote for it being written by someone's marketing department.

As for the battery life, I'm getting a solid day of usage out of mine (12-15 hours) after the last firmware update. They say they are rolling Froyo out now starting overseas so hopefully in a few weeks it'll make it here.

  12. Facebook, MySpace, Photobucket, etc.. on More Warnings Against Oversharing on MySpace · · Score: 2, Insightful

People need to realize that the internet is a public forum. IANAL but management training I've been at had the opinion that posting something publicly is the same as volunteering information in an interview. And just because an employer can't ask something doesn't mean that they can't use it as a factor in hiring you or not.

Even if they can't, like posting you're gay for instance, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. People are a slave to their preferences and if a person doesn't like gays, you're less likely to get the job.

Also people need to realize that if you post it on the internet, it may forever be unretractable. Think that picture is gone just because you deleted it from Photobucket? Think again. It may be on the next CD of 2,000+ images of college girls gone wild. Same goes for your friends posting photos/stories of you. It may be gone for years. Then surface when you run for public office.

People have to realize that hiring someone is difficult. I Google people before offering every time as resumes and interviews can only go so far. MTF, since we do internet work, if I DON'T find any trace of someone online that will set of red flags.

I've heard that comparison several times and I thought it was just wrong. After all, I talk on the cell phone and my driving is pretty good. That is what I thought at least, until I started riding a motorcycle on the street. You notice everything when on a bike in the middle of a bunch of distracted car drivers, and soon I started noticing several patterns. The biggest was that people talking on a cell phone can be spotted easily.

    • They veer constantly between the lines. Sometimes it's just a little but they all do it. Most aren't even aware of it.
    • Their reaction time is slowed tremendously. The light turns green/red, someone stops in front of them, etc.. They are always just a bit late on their reaction.

You all can tell yourselves that you don't do that. That YOU ARE a good driver, and you probably normally are. But so am I.. And so are probably 50% of the people I spot weaving and hitting the brakes 1 second later than they should.
