  1. You are the cause that it becomes shit. on Dev vs. Ops: The State of Accountability (overops.com) · · Score: 1

I so dislike this attitude of 'I am not going to change' instead of looking at the methods and technologies and see how they can be of use to you. Some might be great for your organisation, some not. But dismissing everything on forehand is just so stupid and the reason some organisations are stuck in old, unmaintainable and inefficient IT environments while the world moves on.

  3. Re:Containerization on Kubernetes' First Major Security Hole Discovered (zdnet.com) · · Score: 1

That is not the point. There is a loose coupling between the VM and the application. Which means you are never 100% sure your application runs in the environment it was intended for. With containerisation the application always runs in the environment it was intended for regardless of the infrastructure/vm's. Kubernetes is about devops, not about infrastructure.

  10. There is no difference between mobile and others on Slashdot Asks: Does the World Need a Third Mobile OS? · · Score: 1

We already have three major operating systems for client devices. There is no problem with having more OS's, but we don't want a monopoly across lines of devices. So MS succeeding in the mobile market would be a problem, the same as if Apple or Google would become enormous in the desktop/laptop market. So I am glad MS did not succeed in the mobile market, that would have given them a major advantage. More OS's would be fine, but it totally depends on dominance across all client devices.

I personally moved (and I know a lot of other players did) from PC gaming to console gaming because the amount of cheating through software hacks on the PC platform. So I understand the wish for homebrew but I do think gaming consoles should be a closed environment just to have a reasonable fair gaming environment. I am aware that there are others ways of cheating and glitching that are also available in console gaming, but they are never as worse as an aimbot.

  21. Good solution for motion gaming on The PlayStation Move Arrives — a Hands-On Report · · Score: 1

Got the move and it is a very satisfying solution. Quick movements and a lot less lag than I thought it would have. I am not even a big fan of motion gaming but this solution works great because of its reliability, and that is actually what you want in gaming. The technology might not be the hottest, but if you make a movement you want it registered, missing your motions is makes gaming a lot less fun. Tabletennis and gladiator are great because of that reliability. Sure the current line-up aint great, but that doesnt dismiss this solution for motion gaming.
