I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. It could be removable simply so they could sell a low cost model that lacks the hard drive and a higher cost model that offers the hard drive. Then they could sell the hard drive as a seperate add on and gives you all of the "HDD Required" features that games may offer.
...it will be quite funny, really, the hardware will be faster than any desktop (And most servers) on the market now or then by a long shot, and yet it will probably sell for well under $1000.
Isn't that how the original XBox was? Granted 700MHz wasn't that fast back in 2001, but it was a damn good deal to get that kind of hardware for $300 back then.
I think the reason for the drop in interest in CompSci as a major is that many of the incoming students are disappointed and a little shocked that CS doesn't stand for Counter-Strike.
GI won't receive a cent from me since their whole fiasco with Paper Mario. For those who don't know, they gave Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door for the Gamecube a low score (something like a 6 out of 10) because the game would be precieved as a kiddy game. While it is true the game is very accessable to a younger audience, the game did have some more adult oriented jokes and dialog that the youngins wouldn't get. GI tried to give the excuse that the reason that they gave the low score is because they review games on how the gaming public would recieve it, not on the quality of the game itself.
...and FM transmitter). It's one thing to pay a premium for a high-quality Apple iPod; it's another thing to pay $30 for a an add-on - for features that come standard with other MP3 devices!
..and exactly how many MP3 players come with FM transmitters as standard?
Paris Hilton will be playin as an unknown guy in the next DoA Game.
Something about that makes me think you need to take a closer look at the qualifications of what it takes to be a character in Dead or Alive (at least a female character).
ut? If I buy a Mac off ebay with 10.0 on it can I get to 10.4 for free? No. Despite the fact that they came out at about the same time Apple wants money for every other point release.
if I buy a computer off of eBay with Windows 2000 on it, will Microsoft give me a copy of XP for free? No. You're anology is flawed in respect that 10.0 - 10.1 - 10.2 - 10.n aren't just point releases, those are significant releases. That's like saying Microsoft is charging for point releases because Windows 2000 is NT 5 and XP is 5.1.
I got a DS for Christmas and the only native game I've found that isn't kiddie shit is the Spider-Man 2 game that came out at launch.
You must be one of those "mature" gamers.

A History of Icons
·
· Score: 5, Insightful
While I can't read the article as the server is being slashdotted, I can't help feel that icons, for the most part, have stayed the same since their invention. Sure, we have icons that can be huge, have millions of colors, and have cool transparencey effects, but for the most part, Icons have remained a picture that represents an object or action. The only real innovation that I can think of when it comes to icons are ones which convey information as well as symbolize actions/items. While I'm not familiar if this exists on other icons, it's pretty easy to see on a number of iApps on OSX. For example, Mail's icon shows you how many new messages you have, iCal shows the current date, and when you're downloading files with Safari, the download icons have little progress bars on them, I love the idea of icons providing information to me realting to their particular application and hope to see that implimented more on other systems,
I don't agree with their PETA views, but I do enjoy a lot of the music they make.

From Goldfinger's "Spokesman"
"What happened to integrity
I don't see it on MTV
All I see is choreography
And I'll never be a dancer"
Slightly O/T, but am I the only one who gets annoyed when people refer to Sands of Time and Warrior Within as PoP1 and PoP2 (respectively)?
My biggest issue with going to the theater is seeing 20 minutes of advertisements before the previews begin after paying $8 per ticket.
Who the fuck is Adam Curry? No, seriously.
For what it's worth, you don't even need a chip on the Dreamcast.
What does living in Canada have to do with using AIM?

I think Zonk needs to either pick up a dictionary and/or stop listening to Avril Lavigne ...
Oh and new Zelda game, kickass!
Yeah, and I love how I can play games on my PS2 with Toy Story quality graphics....oh wait.
Well... you can also count the number of good GameCube titles on your fingers...
You have more than 10 fingers? Because I know that I have more than 10 good GameCube games and I wouldn't consider myself "hardcore".

Hmm. I am not a Comcast customer...
/rant of a fustrated Comcast customer.
I know you're not a Comcast customer because you're online instead of suffering with their randomm DNS outages

Nintendo doesn't get small games like this because they shun all but the largest 1st and 2nd party developers.
I take it you've never played Ikaruga or Alien Hominid
Well, for what it's worth, Katamari Damacy has been announced for the DS.
..we all love frosting
;)
I can't have frosting as I'm a diabetic, you insenitive clod!
If it was fun to play, should it matter how "kiddied up" it was?
if you have a problem with a bunch of 8 year olds throwing snowballs at each other, why don't you have a problem with playing as a guy in tights?
