if fossils DID exist on mars, there'd be enough of them, like on earth, that we could pack them in to every box of kix and still have an over abundance. If that was a fossil, it must have been one really lonely life form.
yeah, but this ET game probably won't be written in under a few months. It'll probably flop and suck, but not as bad by comparison as the 2600 title did. Besides, after several decades, gamers know not to trust anything that was based off of a movie license.
I don't think so. Looking back at the Playstation's game line up, I can recall that among the 10 best games were games with somewhat complex interfaces and game systems(Xenogears and Metal Gear Solid come to mind).
If the problem with our current videogame industry is that of simplicity, then really our problem is either with lazy gamers or a dumb public overall. The video gaming industry doesn't need to be simple or easy, just fun. Now, I don't want to go in to Japan worship here, BUT, they do not seem to have this problem. They do not seem to have a problem enjoying a complex gameplay experience like many RPGs and simulators that come out there.
How many do you think could sit down for awhile and play through games like Dragon Quest, or even master beatmaniaIIDX? Sure, IIDX seems like a music sim of probably the most simplest kind, but it's hard. It has a rather steep learning curve isn't the kind of thing american gamers like. sure, it's got a cult following, but I don't see it gaining wide acceptance.
I can't read famitsu magazine or other magazines of the type, but I'm pretty willing to bet that a less picky audience is what's holding the Japanese gaming market together(not to mention sick porno games) and that market isn't going to crash for a long time. In fact, that's where 90% of our innovative games have come from these days. Other than Doom/Wolfenstein or GTA3, very few really innovative games have come from the US in recent memory? Most of the games I buy these days have names like, Namco, Capcom, Square Enix, Sega or the like. Rarely do I buy games from Blizzard or EA. Sorry, there just isn't much innovation lately from us, and it's getting sad. No one wants to take risks anymore in this country. Which is why I'm also willing to bet the arcade industry is dying, but that's another rant all together.
One of the strongly debated issues about emulators is that they are used to play "abandonware" or software that the copyright holder is assumed will never release again.
I read the patent. That's entirely wrong. The intent is to make sure that Bandai or SNK not go hog wild and try to get thier portable machines playable on other portable areas like kiosks or other embedded devices with superior graphics and sound from the same cart data.
This has entirely nothing to do with trying to pull the reigns on abandon ware, it has everything to do to make sure that other game companies get fucked in the ass. It just so happens that this emulator in question violates said patent. If they really wanted to fuck the consumer in the ass, they'd have made the extended capabilities deal go as far as ANY system being emulated ANYWHERE else. Which would fuck people like authors of PSEmuPro/ePSXe plugins. Granted, they could try it an dhope that no one from Bleem! or Sony complain, but that's just too risky.
No. The PSP wasn't even announced in 2000, when the patent was filed. Now, I'm no patent lawyer, so I'm not going to make some big claim like, "nintendo's trying to screw us!" But it seems to me that back then, they figured out how to tell the difference between GB/C games and GBA games(or even GB and GBC) and thought to patent that process.
Uh... What? Flame bait, I know, but the GC is emulating the N64. Literally and figuratively. The GC isn't targeted at PS and Xbox players specifically.
When I was working as at an outsourced call center for Dell, after taking a terrible call that involved some bad level 2 support, I curled up under my desk and turned in to a giant beetle.
I had a bad hinge on my notebook that caused my video to kick out when I had the thing open at the wrong angle.
He wondered if I should reinstall Windows.
I wanted to cry. I had worked at a company like the story had mentioned(Only somewhat more saner) and I had never even heard of things that happen in stereotypical tech support calls happen.
i don't know, i just caught 7x18 and it seemed like they were focusing more on JAG style military drama than they were on scifi. Which in all actuality wasn't bad, it gave the series a bit of flavor I never would've expected from MacGuyver.
I think they have the idea that you can run any flavor of linux on IBM hardware. they never seem to mention one flavor over the other in the ads themselves.
This would be highly wise, as all benefit from it.
Also, when it comes down to it, the home version isn't always the latest and greatest. Sometimes it's several upgrade cycles behind. In Japan, the newest release of Beatmania IIDX is right now at 7th Style, whereas in the Arcade, 10th style is currently running in a location test, and the GuitarFreaks/DrumMania line is at like, 4thMix/5th mix and in the arcade it's like, 10th/11th.
Uhm, by about 1% of the total market? If Linux had the PR that Apple did, Apple would look like a bunch of chumps holding thier dicks in thier hands(or appropriate genitalia).
It wasn't slashdotted when I first looked at it, and I'm not a subscriber. So i can only assume a greater degree of the slashdot populace is out getting laid right now than previously expected.
uh

yes, debunked.
In fact, this part of the site should be called, "Bad Geology." As the nutty theory that Phil has taken on contains numerous geological errors.

sweet! Time to break out the ol' polyester.

the BIG BIG problem with G5's is that they don't run sol.exe
I think they got a discount, but nothing out of the ordinary. Since they're buying machines in bulk...
but there IS a sony camcorder that DOES burn to mini-DVD-Rs.
And for your information, i've been using my DVD-R for archival purposes.
*coughporncough*
Jesus may have been real, however, I'd consider Mel Gibson's portrayal as mostly fictional, just like his portrayal of William Wallace.
it's the fact that they're named "Michael" not that they're CEOs that's causing them to quit.
maybe Michael Powell will quit being the FCC chairman?
Boohoo. Greedo shoots first. Big fucking deal.
How is that ruining the film? If that ruins the film for you, perhaps you should reconsider things...
Given the number of NES emulators out there, I doubt this one is very special.

if MacOS was free-as-in-beer, free-as-speech and ran on x86 hardware, Apple wouldn't be much of anything.
A year or two worth of ads versus decades worth of PR?

Wondering why we haven't called home? :(
