    Yeah but look at StarOffice and Open Office. Sun does it there, why not for java? I'd be happy to use gjavac and a gjava if I knew that they had access to the Sun Microsystems compiler and JVM source. I'm kind of iffy on using a non-Sun implementation. Granted, I'm only an entry level college student, but I'm still wary anyway.

    The thing is, because Java is free, that's why there are so many apps that run on it.

    I think your solution combined with ESR's solution would be best for Sun.

    That is, sell the compiler(and possibly an Enterprise version of the virtual machine), but allow others to develop compilers of thier own for free. With any luck, it might just sell Java to those who would buy it and get support and keep Java free for those who don't want/need support.

    Showing celebrations elsewhere? Yeesh, people. THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO CELEBRATIONS ELSEWHERE.

    Given the sheer amount of ships involved in that battle on both sides? It's unimaginable NOT to have everyone phone home that they just thrashed the Imperial Fleet.

    It's almost unimaginable for someone who takes star wars so seriously to have such little imagination. ;)

    I haven't used an LCD for gaming yet, although when I was forced to use my notebook while on a trip, I certainly didn't mind using it to play DVDs and run NES games via emulation.

    It's a matter of how many impossible problems that are out there.

    Like let's say you need to reverse gravity, make pi = 3, and have rush limbaugh shut his big mouth to make Xbox games work on Xbox2 games. That's very impossible. Three impossibilities.

    My only problem would be that a company is making money off of something shared. Usually(other than the bandwidth provider, but that's not the content provider) MP3 trading involves no monitary transaction. Unless it's an indy band trying to get thier music out. Then that might involve some small charge.

    I dunno, blaming management seems like a very responsible thing to do. I mean, management are the ones who green light things like mindstorms and so forth. They're also responsible for making sure the company doesn't go into the red, period. If the company goes in the red, that's Management's fault.
