My Archos V media tablet has an ARM processor and runs linux. It plays.avis,.wmvs and lots of other video (some codecs sold separately, dammit), hooks up to wifi for full-featured web browsing, plays flash video/apps, displays pictures, plays back every format of music I've thrown at it, and has the most flawless touch-screen interface I've yet used. The only things I want it to do that it can't are VPN and SSH.
I'm afraid they are describing a mortar, not a howitzer. A howitzer *can* shoot like a mortar, and it *can* shoot like a gun, but the thing that makes it a howitzer is the ability to do both.
autocomplete as default is a problem in itself. I much prefer such gadgets to be made available on an opt-in basis. No, I don't want to have to uninstall or de-configure it. It should never be the default behavior. I like how dash does it - use tab to "autocomplete," or not.
This varies by the type of chip. AMD's x86 CPUs are currently stuck at 60nm with progress towards 45nm coming soon (3rd and 4th quarters). AMD's (ATI's) GPUs are already using (I believe) a 35nm process. Intel's x86s currently use 45nm and are heading towards 30nm (or is it 32nm?) late this year. This article talks about cell phone chips, not x86 CPUs.
The most prevalent "shock therapy" currently in use in the US is electro-convulsive therapy (ECT). It is used to treat major depression that is not responsive to drugs. It has nothing to do with retrieving or "erasing" memories, only with zapping the brain in hopes that neurochemical imbalances will be alleviated during its recovery from the trauma (shock), and hopefully for some time after.
So far no sharks with frikkin' laser beams, though. This seems to me an application for which they'd be perfectly well-suited. Hell, even ill-tempered sea bass could do the trick, given sufficient laser power.
You need an adjective, not a verb.

Masturbatory monkey is just plain wrong. Please try again. I vote malicious millipede. Maybe menopausal mongoose.
"The Reagan years were some of the best this country has ever had."
You misspelled "Clinton" badly. Your Saint Ronnie was a demented B-grade actor whose greatest achievement was shoving his silver tongue so far in the ears of willing conservatives as to render them touched in the head. And not in a good way.
delete "Fedex" insert "drug." It's safe and humane, and has the added bonus of not making me shove your screaming fucking brat up one of your bodily orifices.
You are expected to be able to boot your laptop to prove to the friendly securitymonkey that it is not a bomb in disguise. I imagine they would seize a non-booting machine without hesitation. I wonder if a livecd boot would work, though?
It's somewhat of a stretch to call Dianne Finkstein a "democrat." Sure, she caucuses with them, but she also knows that her bread is buttered by her war-profiteering military-industrial-complex-supporting husband. She's one of the more whorish "democrats" out there.

"The older I get, the fewer ugly women there seem to be."
Yes, vision tends to deteriorate with age.
Hot grits?
as "a test for melanin levels." Wondered how much more dangerous DWB was gonna get.

It's the same, but spelled with a bunch of extraneous Fs, Gs and Hs.
Not one way - round trip is approx. 3 months or approx. 2 years, depending upon how it's timed.

No, no - he means from the detergent, Tide. It's disrespectful to dirt and soiled state media.
I thought it was a swahili word, in which case the first sound would be a "yoo," as in "yoo-ganda," that swahili-speaking nation near kenya.
Incorrect on the kamikaze pilots - the Emperor was Divine. To die for the Emperor was to die for God.

"I'm not saying that this guy deserves to get away scot-free"
Siccing the Scots on him would be cruel and unusual.
"But 4 lefts do."
Math fail.
I believe the Gulf side is Gulf, not Caribbean, although there is no hard line there separating the two.
WTF planet was Iran launching this thing from, anyway?
I was wondering WTF was the difference between a brick and a lego.
Womens' gymnasties is the ONLY olympic event worth watching. Just not while my wife's around!
I wish Svetlana Boginskaya was still competing... tasty morsel, that one.
