I've been using mine for a while now, and can tell you that this is about the coolest invention I've seen in a while. Originally, I wasn't sure why I'd need one...now I can't travel without it. I sit in airports watching TV on my MacBook, and always get 1-2 people that ask about it.
I think it depends on the music. If I'm listening to Mahlers 'Resurection' on my iPod, I'm going to want a lossless rip of the CD. If I'm listening to Kid Rock, I could care less.
I think this isn't so much of an issue as it was 5 years ago. When you have a 5gb iPod, that's only 8 CDs...when you have a 80GB one, that's over 100. Big difference. I STILL only load 5-6 at a time on my iPod, because I don't feel I need to carry my entire collection around with me everywhere I go. I don't listen to 1/8 of my collection in a year anyway...why would I want to have it all in my pocket?
Wow...that was drastic!
CVS Pharmacy has such great sales and deals on the stuff I need...when I need it. I can't imagine what would make someone want to not shop there anymore...
I REALLY agree. We had CommuniGate for years, and got sick of the licensing BS, and the lack of support for programs like you state above. Kerio is a GREAT app...and...
It supports iCal...and Address book...and does it well.
Not cheap, but if you already own CommuniGate...you are used to that. If you ask me, Stalker missed the mark by a MILE. the rested too long, and I can see Kerio taking a LARGE chunk of their already small marketplace.
That was my thought too...it's not like they are SELLING the maps. I'd venture a guess that only about 5%-10% of the people that rids that system every day have an iPod, and lets say 5% of them have the map...are they REALLY loosing anything?
To the Subway iPod thingy Programmer: Shame on you for not asking first...but nice job
To the Subway People: Shame on you for being this petty.
To the Subway Restaurants: I'll take a Cold-Cut Combo with Lettuce, Green Peppers, Black Olives, and Salt & Pepper.
Give me a break. How can this be a threat to copyright? It's no different than someone snapping a picture of something now. There have ALWAYS been high-resolution scanners...thin ones now too!
This smells a lot like when people were all upset that cd's were getting 'too cheap' and nobody was going to buy another CD. Well...maybe that KINDA happened.
I can't see hardware manufacturers NOT going towards a DRM chip of some kind. It's evolution man. It'll happen wether you like it or not, and you certainly don't have to buy one. Bu tI think it'll get harder and harder to buy a computer of ANY kind that doesn't have SOME KIND of DRM in it.
I raced RC cars for years. Nothing I saw in that postage-sized clip was anything special. Move the bumper back on a standard Team Losi XXX4 and it'll climb stairs too...
We'll have to agree to disagree. I don't have a $50K table, nor would I want one. My whole rig is in the $20K neighborhood...I spend more than most, but not nearly as much as some.
You take your spectral analyzer, I'll listen to music. Math can tell you one thing...ears are a different instrument all together.
To YOUR final comment, I CAN tell you that the chairman of the Department of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering for one of the largest universities in the country argued the same thing to me, and when we sat in my listening room last year, he missed every "guess which one is CD" cut I played. After 2 hours he left with a new respect for vinyl.
Go learn a thing or two about audio before you start spewing bullshit in front of an audience containing tons of engineers.
That's all fine and good but there are MANY people that have more than most 'engineers' make in a year wrapped up in their analog systems...lots of them 'engineers' themselves. You think they care if the math says it shouldn't sound better? Want to bet your job on wether or not you could tell the difference?
I can show you several $50,000+ turntables...think someone would spend that if they didn't think it sounded better? Go back to your cubicle and spew bullshit to yourself...I'll listen to music and laugh at how ignorant you are.
I've tried to rune my system so that it plays all things equal...in their own regards. I'm not saying that I CAN hear those frequencies, but them being available, and produced by the equipment. We can go back and forth all day on this stuff...it's the "audiophile way" to argue components. I can tell you that I DO have a pair of Grado RS-1 headphones that I used to use all the time...I just enjoy speakers (ProAc Response 2s) better.

If I sat you in front of my system at home and played a record, and CD of the same recording, you'd think the record was the CD. I've done this nearly 50 times over the last 4 years, and only 3 people have ever guessed correctly.
CDs are only 16bit, and Vinyl has a MUCH higher frequency response range.
Granted, I've got $20K+ into my system, and not everyone has an environment like that, but don't discount a technology because you don't understand it.
I don't see it changing at all...if anything, it'll help. Looking at the recent figures, Mac sales are UP since announcing the switch. A good friend of mine manages an Apple Retail store, and says that they have had more people buying them recently than ever before. The press that they got BECAUSE they are switching has caused quite a buzz...
The one's I'm calling ignorant are the ones that think the whole OS is going to change because of the chip inside it.
I'm an ADC Select developer, and have one of the P4 'G5' boxes on my desk...I see no signifigant speed differences one way or another on native apps. Photoshop and the Altivec-intence apps are a LITTLE sluggish, but nothing that a native build won't fix.
Rosetta is a real nice little...er...application. We have yet to find something that'll choke it and not run on this box.
Now keep in mind, this is all just the quickie/development/transition box. I'd expect that the production boxes will have a better processor in them and should make for a seemless user experience.
For whatever reason people are boycotting a Intel, I'd say it's a bit foolish to pre-judge what will/wont be available for another 8-10mos.
That line refers to connecting your software to your SlingBox...not activating the SlingPlayer software.
...but it's still awesome.

Great stuff...
I think it depends on the music. If I'm listening to Mahlers 'Resurection' on my iPod, I'm going to want a lossless rip of the CD. If I'm listening to Kid Rock, I could care less.

But then again...that's just my opinion.
Wow...that was drastic! CVS Pharmacy has such great sales and deals on the stuff I need...when I need it. I can't imagine what would make someone want to not shop there anymore...
He CLEARLY states that it was his BLONDE friend... ...case closed.
I thought it was digg.com that did it...

I thought it odd that F5 Networks was there, but Google wasn't...
I DID like that RH made the list with 800 employees...compared to 11,000 for Apple, or 56,000 for M$.
...now does anyone remember how to play Risk?
I don't think this is any different than getting a driver certified on XP. Some people do it...others don't.
That was my favorite part. I could give 2 shits about a music video, but to be able to see a TV show...THAT is huge!
One step closer to getting rid of y tv.
Its a shame more companies don't do that kind of research before making a decision. Most would rather just listen to the nice salesman...

Super...now we can go help Christopher Reeve walk again!
What...
Oh...
Sorry...
My GUESS is that they'll have to hope like hell that the tests they were going to run on repairing foam sections works.
Ok, a better question....WHY IS IT MADE OF FOAM?
I'm sure there are smarter people than us working on it...with the answers to all these questions and more...
We'll have to agree to disagree. I don't have a $50K table, nor would I want one. My whole rig is in the $20K neighborhood...I spend more than most, but not nearly as much as some.

Again...we'll agree to disagree.
For me, vinyl is 1-part nostalga, 1-part romance, and a lot of fun...
There is something cool about the 'procedure' you go through with playing a record....
Clean, wipe, play, flip....repeat.
