    Does this mean when the cable tv model dies and is replaced with iTunes I will have to spend $400 a year just to watch the Daily Show?

    At $2 an episode does makes sense if you are buying an episode every so often but buying every episode of every season at those prices makes bittorrent a much better deal.

    Yes you are corrent and that was a bad mistake of mine...

    For some reason I have had a hard time telling difference between corperations and the goverment.

    I just don't know why I have that problem these days.

    I still say we are not imune to the examples I was responding to.

    Concider American Scientoligists censoring Google for linking to sites about Xenu.

    Concider MPAA censoring 2600 magazine for posting links to DeCSS.

    How about the use of the DMCA to pull down information off the net because it is "Copyrighted"

    Perhpas I am mistaken but I seem to rember many articles here about of censorship occuring in the US on the internet.

    I don't belive our record is clean.

    In some cases about a year old.

    If you look at Disneyland in Anaheim... Space Mountain is halfway in transition from bronze to white.

    They re-paneled the attraction about a year ago to get ready for the 50th anniversary.

    So some images are just much older than others.

    Nowadays, when I use Windows, I get annoyed by windows just disappearing into thin air.

    Here I get annoyed at the genie effect or anything that takes time to get rid of something.

    I click close or minimize I want that window gone right away. This goes for any effect that get in the way of getting to the command quicker (Dissolves, bounces or whatever)

    I tried putting an unpatched windows XP system on my speakeasy account to watch it get infected (The things one does for fun.)

    I took signatures of everything on the system so I could pick over the changes when it did get infected. I wanted to see how fast it would take and how hard it would be to clean the system up.

    It surprised me when it took around a day for it to get infected.

    The best I could conclude was that it does matter where you are on the Internet.

    I need to try this experiment on a cable connection.

    Was hit by a spyware attack last friday.

    Browsing while watching Battlestar Galactica I just wasn't paying attention when I got a dialog that I blindly took for a security certificte that was not reconized and I blindly clicked accept.

    It was a java request for more access... Within moments I had new icons in my system tray.

    This stunned me as I was running opera.

    Took me an hour to get rid of the spyware and trojans.

    Thanks BartPE, Kaspersky and System Internals!

    I backtraced to figure out what happend and figured out it was java and then disabled it on my roomates computers.

    This replaces ntoskrnl.exe?

    Why would that be impossible to fix? Wouldnt just using something like Barts PE or Knoppix and copy an unmolested copy back on to your system work?

    I prefer to virus/spyware scan a system from an bootable CD than the host OS.

    But yes... detection under the hacked kernel would be harder.

    in NT 4.0 had been ported to Dec Alpha, Mips and Power PC.

    No they don't.

    It's one of the few digital camera's that has a sensor that is physicaly 35MM.

    The current crop of digial camera's have CCD's that are much smaller. If you get a canon digital rebel and use a 50mm lens it's now an 88mm lens.

    Just the fact that this camera can use my current leses the way I am used to them makes me wonder how the hell I can get an space $6000...

    First keep my machine patched.

    I then set IE to display no images, run no java, java script or active X.

    I keep IE's connection settings to a non-existing proxy at 127.0.0.1 8080.

    Then I use Opera.

    Funny I used to say I wouldn't even trust IE to render pictures... Guess that was a good move.

    You mean we could fit that in before the date marketing gave out that we couldn't make?
