Install some bare bones rom onto it with VNC viewer, install with vncserver and all of a sudden, you've got a tablet that is acting as a wireless monitor with touch capabilities. I've done this before where I have installed Unity in a VM, used the tablet to connect to that in an VNC session and it works a treat. You'd probably noticed a hell of an improvement with the battery life also.
Completely uncalled for. I fail to see how this "abuses" "his" users? Last time I remember, people weren't "working" for Canonical per se but working towards making x phone usable with Ubuntu.
3:2 Aspect ratio for normal people who use their laptop to actually work and not watch movies! I can plug a sim card into it and code where ever I want. Sublime Text will look absofuckinlutely gorgeous on this. Color me excited.
I let people connect to my AP but they are greeted with a captive portal screen in their browser. Usually this turns most people off right away (The logs say so anyway!)
Oh, and you don't need pfSense for captive portal, I think dd-wrt does a relatively decent job of providing it also.
"friendly people (just don't try to hire them to do work for you unless you understand their work ethic and speak their language)"
I take it you've spent a bit of time here then?!?! You're spot on! Welcome to my daily life of employing Thai's! (not to say they're ALL bad, just most of them)
Dude, you should read up on your history. HM The King certainly isn't a turd, he is more of a binding force between the 2 major sides in Thailand (being red shirts and yellow shirts and those in-between) and sadly he has no power over these laws (which have been in affect in the Kingdom loooong before HM The King was born) -- However on several occasions he has requested for the Lese Majeste rule be eradicated but under Thai law, he doesn't have the power to be able to do this. He has even mentioned that if anyone should be criticized it should be himself. Don't hate The King, hate our retarded backwards government who puts more emphasis on dollars, cents and saving face.
I mean, really, if they were gonna play ball, they should change the clause which stipulates that they can't, in fact, sell your photos. At least replace it with something more ambiguous!
I haven't lived in Aus for a few years now but there are quite a lot of honest ISP back home. I remmeber Exetel, Westnet and a few others who were quite good. I am looking forward to seeing how that whole purely wholesale fibre ISP will go.
I have a bunch of external US Robotics 28.8k modems that I have since put to good use on an old Debian machine (old old Pentium 1 Thinkpad with a broken display) acting as a scan server. People can email pdf's with the phone number in the subject to the machine and it will fax them out. It will also act as a repository for receiving faxes and drop the fax into an inbox.
Yes, I hate fax machines, and to this day I still don't understand why email cannot be sufficient, but until people think the same way as me, this works quite well and makes me chipper that my old shit is being recycled (and saving a ton of paper in the process!!)
The words of Gene Hackman in 'Enemy of the State' ring a bell: "You're either incredibly smart or incredibly stupid" -- I for one am looking forward to seeing how this pans out!
He's using his cell phone which is presumably IPv4 only.

I'm surprised that "turn your wifi off" wasn't listed here...

Oh baby, I can only imagine how quickly a mac pro would boot into Linux :)
He could have saved himself a pinky and used the whole clarinet instead akin American Pie :)
Thanks!
Especially so when I am reading reports of people intentionally smashing in windows in hope of compensation. Ahhh, sneaky f*ckin' Russians!
So in another words, they wanted to avoid working like Microsoft then...
They didn't need the source code to Photoshop 1 to figure out how to do a single window mode, so I guess that counts for something.
A large group of people in a circle pit resembles a bunch of molecules circling? I'll be damned.
This. It's a sad day where if I were forced to give up my Linux's and BSD's I'd feel more comfortable moving to Windows opposed to OSX.
:)
Ironically I am posting this from an Macbook Pro running Debian

You better start saving up for some SSD's then!
You're the product.

Mod up. This made the nerd in me ALMOST cry! :)
If it was still losing altitude, which it isn't anymore. Been stable at around 500km for the best part of 10 minutes.
RMS? Is that you?

First post and it has to mention "footgate". This must be some kind of record!
Purchase 40% less food. Duh!
