You are full of unrefined manure. While EU countries still have their own age-ratings for movies, the general standards much less strict.
Consider this: One of my friends is a USian student sudying in Finland. He brought his CD collection with him, among them an album from Bloodhound Gang, a USian band. At least one of the songs was censored because it contained the words mother-fucker. After hearing the uncensored European version he ended up buying it.
Lord Of The Rings (FOTR) was released globally at the same time. Two Towers and Return of the King will also be released simultaneously in the whole world.
It is possible to manufacture a "Region 0" DVD that will play in all players, regardless of their region. For example all of my Finnish DVDs are Region 0.
Talk about coincidences: I study at hut.fi, in Finnish the acronym is TKK. The rector/headmaster/principal/whatever has a license plate TKK-1!!! Even scarier, his 2nd in command has TKK-2!!! Just imagine waht the odds for that are!
Don't know about anywhere else but here in Finland the standard working week is 40 hours. So we win either way, we get the fancy phones and we get to see our kids grow (with a paid maternal/paternal vacation).
The problem with a T68 is that as nice as the features are, it doesn't work very well as a phone. In Finland we have a saying about engineers: "If you haven't designed it, you can't use it." The T68 is a usability nightmare. You even turn it on with the NO-button! That makes less sense than shutting down Windows with a Start-button. It has abot 3 different sets of menus accessible from 3 different buttons.
I could go on for quite some time, but besides the form-factor and the feature-est there is nothing great about the T68.
... listening to radio was NOT stealing. Neither was recording it. Fortunately the Finnish law draws a parallel between downloading and tape-recording.
Some technologies are more fundamental than others.
[...] The Internet is one of those very fundamental technologies; the microchip is another.
I think that in 100 years time everybody will just be referring to this era as "electronic revolution" or "information-revolution".
After all, we do not talk about "Spinning-Jenny type steam engine"-revolution and railroad-revolution. We only talk about industrial revolution.
Actually the similarities between the steam-revolution and our current era are quite striking.
First came the few isolated pioneers (Spinning-Jenny-type machines vs. first computers) and couple of decades later we have huge networks of the things connecting places that were before considered remote and far away (Railroads vs. Internet).
Industrial revolution led to urbanization and completely changed the role of workers. I can only wait and watch how the "information revolution" will effect us...
"Linux" isn't all that much better, since it's also not pronounced as it's written in English [russnelson.com], but there's a key factor that makes the name more acceptable: is has an "X" in it.
I wish Linus' original name would have been accpted: GNU/Phreax certainly has something going for it.
And like many people I no longer hold faith with gov't "studies" as these are the people who told us we could wash radioactive fallout off with soap and water and be *fine*
You can actually. At least alpha, and I guess even beta particles aren't very good at penetrating your skin.
It says fallout, not radiation.
Congratulations Blender!
I take it that there are at the moment no viable 3D rendering programs for Linux but that will change with the OS release of Blender.
What other software categories are still missing or are clearly inferior to the commercial/Windows versions?
Could this become a (potentially bad) habit?

Because you didn't read slashdot

But just use TheRegUs instead.
You're wrong. But that makes your sig right.
My head hurts.
And of course I meant +3...
And anytime someone points this out they get +5.
What do I get? +1?
Why would AMD want to get back at Microsoft?
They seem to be quite a happy couple... have you noticed the Windows XP / Athlon XP joint marekting...
For us used to scandinavian alphabets the shows name is hilarious as STARGÅTE sounds something like a swedish version of StarGoth...
ISTR AMD and Microsoft had some co-operative marketing going on a while ago...
Tech Report has some extensive testing of 1900+ on a KT266A platform versus P4 2GHz.
Have you tried Operation Flashpoint? IMHO the best soldier-sim of the year. If the Civ3 wasn't out in a week I'd say it's the best game of the year.

9210 passes the "smaller than my penis" test.
The first GPS-enabled mobile I know of is Benefon Esc. I can't provide a direct link, but it's the second phone on the left.

With the midtower G4's being so much cheaper and looking almost as cool this was just waiting to happen.
