  1. Re:Sounds bad to me. on Cheap and Reliable IP Telephony? · · Score: 1

"I need a system that could initially handle about 80 users at a single location, and eventually handle about 350 users at 7 locations."

It sounds like his current system isn't the problem, but rather the expected growth from 1 to 7 locations. Having a plan that can cheaply expand to those requirements sounds like a good idea.

  3. Re:So? on Computerized Time Clocks Susceptible to 'Manager Attack' · · Score: 1

So close. Anything over 12 hours per day is OT, and anything over 40 hours per week it OT.

    Examples:
You work 8,8,8,8,10, giving you 42 hours and 2 hours OT.
You work 14,8,8,8,4, giving you 42 hours and 4 hours of OT. You get all OT over 40 hours, and all OT over 12 hours.

This only applies to non-exempt status employees.

EV1 is very similar to the date rape victim here. I don't think you should punish them by lost business. Instead, continue to support them and voice your frustration in writing. If you are happy with their service, but not happy with their policy, allow them to change before making this call.

If I happened to use your Redhat server for something important to me, then I'd be mighty pissed if you moved providers for no real good reason.

  10. Blame Europe on Losing Control of Your TV · · Score: 2, Informative

I've read a lot about this, and the reason they don't want people to have the ability to record high quality copies, and be able to post them on the Internet, is that most European Countries don't get American shows until 1-2 years later.

Even now, last season of shows like Scrubs, are being seen for the first time in Europe. Without the control over when these shows are seen be the Europeans, the MPAA loses the ability to get the higest price from advertisers.

I simply wanted to point out the MPAAs mindset behind why they wanted this. It isn't to "control your TV", it was only a way to make sure that they are getting the most return on their global investment.

I use a program called "Perfect Keyboard", which is a mouse and keyboard macro recorder/playback. It's great for leveling in MMPORGs. She continues to base a useable desktop by how many windows she can open at once. Skip the article, and read the reviews from the /. posters. FreeBSD 5.2 is rock solid, as any Unix, Linux, box would be. Every port in the ports tree has a pkd_add to go along with it. That's 10,000 precompiles binary ready to download. They all install, deinstall, with near zero user interaction.
