    Will version II of the suit also screw up your short-term memory and give you bad skin?

    There is way to re-map those keys under windows 2k/xp. It took me some time to create this, but it works great. Just put the lines below in a .reg file, import into registry, reboot. Make sure you READ WHAT EACH CODE DOES and delete those you do not want, since I've done some strange remapping (no windows key on the right, caps lock is TAB, re-arranged the numpad keys to standard layout). Also, slashcode breaks the name of the registry key, so you'll have to change "CurrentControlS et" to "CurrentControlSet".

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlS et\Control\Keyboard Layout]
    "Scancode Map"=hex: \

    00,00,00,00, \ ; header: flags (always 0)
    12,00,00,00, \ ; number of remapped keys (just count the number of lines below this one)
    5b,e0,38,00, \ ; left alt -> left win
    38,00,5b,e0, \ ; left win -> left alt
    38,e0,5c,e0, \ ; right win -> right alt
    35,e0,59,00, \ ; numpad = -> numpad /
    37,00,35,e0, \ ; numpad / -> numpad *
    4a,00,37,00, \ ; numpad * -> numpad -
    4e,00,4a,00, \ ; numpad - -> numpad +
    37,e0,5d,00, \ ; f13 -> printscreen
    46,e0,5e,00, \ ; f14 -> break
    3a,00,5f,00, \ ; f15 -> caps lock
    0f,00,3a,00, \ ; caps lock -> tab
    00,00,00,00 ; final, null byte. leave it here.

    If it's anything like their CD burners, then I don't want one. I have a 24x sony CD burner that refuses to burn data on cheaper, lower quality media, while the slower, 12x LG burner never complains abouth anything.

  12. maya menus on Pie-Menus in Mozilla · · Score: 2

    This really reminds me of menus in Maya. But Maya's menus seem to be a bit more context sensitive and have text labels insted of small icons. It would be much better if the labels in mozilla were always visible and not only after a few seconds. Does anyone know what file should I edit to get that behaviour? I guess I would just have to change some "delay" value.

  19. supermodels on In Space, No One Knows You Read Vogue · · Score: 4, Funny

    It seems Russian astronauts are trolling for supermodels as passengers for their space program.

    Why would supermodels have to be passengers in the space program? They can easily fly up there to the space station, like their mentor, the superman! I've never seen him pay for a seat in the shuttle! :)

  20. Is this computer yours? on Sun Discovers Dumb Terminals · · Score: 2

    This reminds me of college. Make sure you are among the first few in the classroom, so you get a good computer. But even if you got the best computer it would still have a crappy keyboard on which the backspace key would get stuck every now and then (it would ALWAYS be the backspace key, so it would delete a few more characters than you wanted it to and you'd have to retype them) and the mouse would be so dirty that it would stick to your hand!! Well, I might be exaggerating a little bit. But the bottom line is if people can't say "this computer is mine" then they simply won't bother treating it with a little care.
