There is way to re-map those keys under windows 2k/xp. It took me some time to create this, but it works great. Just put the lines below in a.reg file, import into registry, reboot.
Make sure you READ WHAT EACH CODE DOES and delete those you do not want, since I've done some strange remapping (no windows key on the right, caps lock is TAB, re-arranged the numpad keys to standard layout). Also, slashcode breaks the name of the registry key, so you'll have to change "CurrentControlS et" to "CurrentControlSet".
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlS et\Control\Keyboard Layout] "Scancode Map"=hex: \ 00,00,00,00, \ ; header: version (always 0) 00,00,00,00, \ ; header: flags (always 0) 12,00,00,00, \ ; number of remapped keys (just count the number of lines below this one) 5b,e0,38,00, \ ; left alt -> left win 38,00,5b,e0, \ ; left win -> left alt 38,e0,5c,e0, \ ; right win -> right alt 35,e0,59,00, \ ; numpad = -> numpad/ 37,00,35,e0, \ ; numpad / -> numpad * 4a,00,37,00, \ ; numpad * -> numpad - 4e,00,4a,00, \ ; numpad - -> numpad + 37,e0,5d,00, \ ; f13 -> printscreen 46,e0,5e,00, \ ; f14 -> break 3a,00,5f,00, \ ; f15 -> caps lock 0f,00,3a,00, \ ; caps lock -> tab 00,00,00,00 ; final, null byte. leave it here.
If it's anything like their CD burners, then I don't want one. I have a 24x sony CD burner that refuses to burn data on cheaper, lower quality media, while the slower, 12x LG burner never complains abouth anything. (no, I'm not trying to burn CDs at higher speeds than they were made for)
Actually, this mesage is not as stupit as it might seem at first, since you really can't do much without a keyboard. And it can be disabled in any (good) BIOS if you're running a keyboard-less server.
This really reminds me of menus in Maya. But Maya's menus seem to be a bit more context sensitive and have text labels insted of small icons. It would be much better if the labels in mozilla were always visible and not only after a few seconds. Does anyone know what file should I edit to get that behaviour? I guess I would just have to change some "delay" value.
If you are into a bit harder/techno rythms you should check out DJs like Umek, Chis Liebing, Valentino Kanzyani, Sven Vaeth, Jeff Mills, Takkyu Ishino, Simon Digby, Ben Sims... There were a lot of their sets available on Audiogalaxy, but that's not much help now, I guess.
I believe that now is the right time to unleash a file-sharing IIS worm! What are they going to do? Drag Microsoft and thousands of NT server owners to court for providing software for file sharing?
I think I'll go look for my c64 & atari2600 & see if they still work... And at the same time I will also be able to chek if my TV is still working like it did a month ago when I last watched it.:)
It seems Russian astronauts are trolling for supermodels as passengers for their space program.
Why would supermodels have to be passengers in the space program? They can easily fly up there to the space station, like their mentor, the superman! I've never seen him pay for a seat in the shuttle!:)
This reminds me of college. Make sure you are among the first few in the classroom, so you get a good computer. But even if you got the best computer it would still have a crappy keyboard on which the backspace key would get stuck every now and then (it would ALWAYS be the backspace key, so it would delete a few more characters than you wanted it to and you'd have to retype them) and the mouse would be so dirty that it would stick to your hand!! Well, I might be exaggerating a little bit. But the bottom line is if people can't say "this computer is mine" then they simply won't bother treating it with a little care.

Will version II of the suit also screw up your short-term memory and give you bad skin?
;)
It seems old people and pot-smoking teenagers have more in common than I thought...
Damn. What are your plans for the rest of the day?
Bring peace to the Middle East before tea-time, I guess...
I'm sure the browser has many more users than BIOS, since I've NEVER seen a computer with Phoenix bios.
Sunset will be canceled tonight, due to the slashdotting of the sun.

If Verdi had a math fetish and a computer, would he be John Greschak?
:)
I don't know if he would sound like Greschak, but he would definitely sound a bit like like Aphex Twin.

I'm looking at the whole thing a bit differently:
1 year ago, a group of people showed the whole world, that nothing is impossible...
Google has the answer:
:)
Searched the web for stupid cell phone users. Results 1 - 10 of about 29,400. Search took 0.09 seconds.
Does that answer your question?
...have I seen this before? O yeah, slashdot - news for nerds, posted at least 3 times in 2 months...

The Segway has already been revealed!

he's an interesting little capitalist.
right now he seems to be a slashdoted little capitalist.

thank you for reminding me!
