Care to explain how a rootkit could be considered anything but malware?
Well, this one is considered "security software" by the manufacturer. Then again - we all know how much security by obscurity helps... (hook up the drive to another machine, anyone?)

pay about 1500€ for a new rig in order to play GTA4 at acceptable rates.
Slash that 1500€ in half and we can start talking. 1500 is way excessive for a recent dual-core CPU and mobo, 2 gigs of RAM, an ATI Radeon 4850, a harddrive and a case...
I know I paid less than 600€ for an Intel Quad Core, a Gigabyte mainboard, 2 gigs of RAM, said ATI Radeon 4850 and a new PSU a few months ago. Sure, I had the hard drives, DVD drive, case, keyboard and mouse from my old box already, but those aren't expensive either.

I have thermal throttling and the other new power-saving standards all turned on[...].
Uh... thermal throttling is what's supposed to prevent the CPU from frying itself when it's fan dies - it's tripped by the CPU temperature getting to high.
You're probably thinking of Cool'n'Quiet/SpeedStep.

The victims are supposedly the real children who get exploited in making real child porn. The theory is that these pornographic drawings contribute to an illicit market in child pornography and thereby encourage the creation of the real thing.
Why not chop down the Amazonian rain forests next? I'm pretty sure the oxygen produced there also contributes a tiny little bit to the same illicit market...

But if you own more than a few hundred media files you'll quickly find that organization by folder is inefficient if not totally unmanageable, and iTunes is designed to address that issue.
I'm not sure what stuff you were smoking, but managing my ~1250 folders of albums ripped to MP3 files is very convenient, especially outside of any media player you're locked into otherwise.
And for browsing everything in those folders (and filling my iPod classic 30GB) there's always foobar2000 or Windows Explorer's search function, thankyouverymuch.
They know they can't kill the Linux version off entirely, due to the number of hih end effects houses who are quite happy to have a mixed Linux/Mac environment and don;t want to change out their Shake boxes for Mac Pros, but they want anyone who wants to start up in the field to go all-Mac.
A 40 pound child is a little more...yielding than a 40 pound chunk of metal. Also, the 40 pound chunk of metal would presumably be falling on the car from above, not hitting the car head-on. So yah, it may not actually reduce the entire car to a smoking crater, but it would likely total it.

It's pretty tough to sandbox things like debug registers.
But it's also pretty tough to imagine a genuine, non-evil unpacker that actually needs to access those for unpacking...

Is there a way to get that back?
Use the sliders - you know, the ones in the bar with the story name.
The first slider chooses what score to display full vs. what to display abbreviated, and the second one selects the score at which to hide comments.
Just make sure to set the second slider two steps from the right and comments with score 0 or -1 are filtered out.

Not to mention that all modern OSes can do file system compression by themselves nowadays...
