Executives see systems this way: Does it work or not? Does it cost money vs. does it give us money.
Your report should look like this: All systems running, no money loss.
Don't you ever bug them with: System X works. System Y has a lag problem. System N is down.. Then hell will brake loose for nothing.
And for god sake don't feed them with up-times or down-times.... They don't know what it means.. And numbers, figures, and bars will just confuse them because they will lag a $ dimension.
The internet is a business driven platform. If there is no incitement or clear gain for the industry or private user there will be no reason to "upgrade". You have to strive to a very clear gain if you want to implement a new technological wonder like the IPv6
I have the N97. And this is by far the most buggy piece of crap i have bought ever.:(
Keyboard sucks.
Lock button has a mind of its own.
Constant lag
Poor touch screen
Frequent "Out of memory" error (Probably due to the all to small phone memory. )
Laughable OVI store (Nokia's App store)
Poor message system UI
Poor phone application
Constant dropouts while driving
But it does a great job as acting a huge dumb USB stick
Or we should all create cool Penguin software. I don't really see the need for emulated windows software if the software for Linux was created with business needs in mind, and not just a facet of what are available on the Microsoft platform. Todays mistake is copying windows needs to Linux rather than solving its own share of users main problems and needs.
So my password will at last give a meaning, no more ********* but now the more meaningful KlYtgHjd8 - GREAT!
If this will be mandatory with visual letters I will change my password back to the trustworthy *********, no one will guess nine stars anyways, to simple to break.
A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
(...)
Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
`cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?
"I'm a guy who doesn't see anything good having come from the Internet, period."
Huh? Well you have failed your shareholders miserable Mr. SONY CEO. Most of the economy is based on businesses doing business using The Internet. I think it's time for the Mr. Sony to sack Mr. CEO for total failure and having such a profound view of what good business really is.
No wonder the recording industry is left behind in the net economy. *sigh*.
Time to stop RIAA corporate conglomerate racketeering. There misuse of legal systems and there use of gangster like methods has completely gone wild. It can't be accepted anymore in a democratic society. Corporations are not higher ranked entities, we citizen must act.
Behold there, I am no gods work. I am a branch of evolution.
If the US patent office existed in the 16th century the pope would have patented the right to god, and would definitely sue humans for stealing gods work. But thank god for the dark ages, we are now capable of the choice to be atheists. Be what ever you like, but don't tell us to stop being thinkers.
Btw. Intelligent design is apparently owned legally by the RIAA now.:)
MS time to market sucks. They are too late, they slept during the bigest internet ekspansion. Its all invented. There last option is to buy there competitors or change focus to operating system development. Even VISTA is late and feels not as smooth as OS X. There only advantage is the huge amount of customer base, who are using there current platform. I think its over. The MS ship is going down, slowly.
Start getting the head manager to define a business case. Then with that define a vision for the project in cooperation with all participants. Scope your vision with the help from the input from the users. Make sure you have involvement from management, which is critical for success.
Define all roles: Who is the "customer" and/or stakeholder, who will test your software for you (you can't do that yourself wi) who will be responsible for managing requirements and who will develop.
You actually already have the step to iterate trough steps for a solid projectplan. Make af mockup / prototype and show it to the project members (users managers etc.) And iterate until you have a working specificatio
If you don't follow these important steps, you are about to be part of the high statistics of doomed software project without a clear scope and stakeholder involvement.
It is complete nonsense to call this webpages a Operating System (OS). A more suitable term is WEBSHELL. You cant print from within a shell without an OS. Just like these Web shells or pages with dynamic web content..
Remember when win 3.1 was called "OS"?? When it really was a shell on a Disk OS.
God is an alien - no doubt - cause no human has laid eyes upon him. That should stop the debate.
Al Gore invented Windows, just after he invented the internet.

So if we had a memory leak it would bleed transistors.

It took 100 years to accept the automobile, and still people ask the service station if the OIL lit is part number 710.

The Apple has begun to rot. And remember corporations are far from democratic and humane.

Seems like we are extremely short sighted in our localized definition of wonders
Thanks to Echelon all mails are now recovered in a dusty box at NSA.

I guess it will be considered af cracking attempt and therefore illegal.
I for a moment thougth, that the title was refering to the /. story of Bill Gates stepdown from Microsoft.
