There are plenty of households who don't rent movies, believe it or not, and plenty who only rent maybe 2 or 3 times a year. And believe it or not, once a month is max for most households. So that averaging to one every 2 years is definatly possible.

In New York they can't increase the rent on you, so you have little old ladies who pay 20 bucks a month for an apartment. Do you think the landlord can survive that way? Of course not, so they have to make the prices insanly high for new residents, to cover there cost. Whenever government sets prices lower than market, you mess up with the supply/demand and you end up with more demand, and less supply (because less people want to sell a product they can't get a resonable price for.) Therefor an unstable market.

Nothing evil about it at all. I compile my kernal because I have to patch in some drivers, and like to specify certain modules to be included in the kernel and certain mods to not be. In L1 and L2 increasing memory size, also increases latency, which is exactly what you DON'T want in onboard cache. I've seen benchmarks that have shown that with good speed main memory, a cache over 2MB can slow actually slow you down. So I'm just hoping that they have some new tech memory, as they plan on putting 3MB on it. But as this is 64bit its very likly that the size point may be much larger, where you start to loose speed.

BTW the way many cable companies digital TV works, is that when you change channels your tv sends a signal up the wire saying that you want to see such and such channel. So they start to stream channel X down your network segment. So having the ability to run 500 HDTV channels would only mean that they can now run 500 TVs on the same segment YAY :( (obviously this number will be lower if they are offering internet connections through the same wire, but you get the idea)

The guy who ran 4fordparts.com, and 4fordtrunks.com who sells parts, got sued, and offered to turn over the domain site, got told that he still owed ford $6000.00 (3000 for each name) and he paid up, figuring it would be cheaper than to goto court. I really hope EFF would contact this guy and offer to help him, but I don't know if its possible to counter sue after you've settled, even if it was blackmail. Oh well.
