Exactly, as well current temperature increases for the last hundred years have only been between .2 to 1C depending upon who you ask (different studies factor in urban heat effect (the extra heat of concrete and such) differently) So we have quite a long time until we have to worry about another 3C for a while.

I find it hard to formulate any principled rule that would call TiVO's developments non-obvious but NPT's blackberry patent obvious.

One major difference in my mind.. TiVo created the idea of a harddrive as a replacement for the VCR, and NPT created the idea for email from a handheld device. Both semi novel ideas, but ideas others have thought of before. TiVo created a great product that implemented this idea in a truly novel way that created MANY copyers. NPT created an idea and sat on it.

But you have to admit delaying Vista is really a good idea from a sales perspective. They are still selling XP license as well as 2003 license for servers. Hell many people are just now moving to 2003. There is almost no marketting reason selling a new version would net them much more income. What they really need is something drastically improved from XP. Of course they are currently scraping features to get it out the door.. Its not like they are losing money while it waits.
The PS3 on the other hand is something they need to get out the door, BUT they are still selling PS2 games as well so its not exactly something they should be rushing either.

Yep, in situations like this its generally a matter of how do these people differ from the people that it worked on. As all of apples machines are pretty much the same, it either boils down
    1. an error during the bootcamp install like the power going out or some kinda of hardware failure.
    2. Differences in the windows installation.

I'm betting there are some cases of both.

No its just that windows installer is notorius for messing with dual boot programs. I'm guessing as this was designed for a specific version of windows its possible people installed a slighly different version of windows (like one of those dell disk or someting) that did something slightly different enough to throw off the bootloader.

Oh people just like to complain. There are VERY FEW Apple/intel machines out there in the first place. Most are bleeding edge users to begin with. As the Apple/Intel machines are pretty much new, few people have any data to worry about, so most probably didn't make a backup. A few people rushed the job didn't read the instructions. And now realize their grocery list they made last week is gone.

    1. A pre-test to compare each persons responces before gaming (they probably did this)
    2. A physical activity control group.

As we all know playing these games do cause temporary aldrinaline and testotarone (spellling???) increases. These test were preformed immediently after playing and as such the results could have been related. Would have enjoyed seeing a group sent out to play football, or even just run track. I bet you would see similar responces..

Believe it or not, its not entirly walmarts fault that the average consumer has only a short supply of cash (blame that on the credit card companies :) Sadly many consumers are fooled into believing they will get a high quality product that will last them many years from walmart. But that is a matter of consumer education. Sure one would hope that consumers were provided with clear indications as to the quality and comparitive prices of all products. Quote from an Moz La Punk article.
"Unlike other FPS games, which tie the camera and aiming together, Red Steel's camera follows your aim with a slight delay. If, for example, you point to the edge of the screen, the camera will turn to re-center on your view after a second. later

    - According to lead game designer Oriola, it takes roughly three seconds to turn completely around around in most console shooters, while it takes about one-quarter second in a PC game. In Red Stel, it takes one second.

Ignoring the obvious discrepancy between one second to turn around and one second to turn at all. This sounds basically like an edge scroll system. Which would be annoying to me if there is more than a 1/8th second lag. But we'll see.
