    No, it is not. Your computer does not have an infinitely long tape (or anything equivalent to it). What you have is the equivalent of a long, finite tape.

    Sense vehicular motion (including vibration) and shut down the texting function while in motion.

    No, that would also block passengers. (Including everyone on the bus or subway)

    Also these laws do nothing to stop the million other ways people might be distracted while driving. Why not just ticket people for driving erratically instead of policing what they are doing in their car? Or better yet, give me the auto-driving car I was promised years ago and this becomes a non-issue.

    I don't see the problem. So you'd feel better if they instead spent more money on manufacturing, etc. to have two different CPUs. So you'd rather pay $250 or $200 for your choice of CPU than pay $175 for the single CPU with an option to upgrade it for $50?

    See, you are trying to use the wrong system for the wrong job again. For that just use a unary number system. Then your fingers themselves can be the answer your question.

    I can calculate it completely in base pi: 10.0 done. What's all the fuss about? You just need to be smarter when picking your bases and you can avoid all this trouble.

    Or perhaps convert it to ASCII to see if pi actually represents a story of some kind that is being told to us by the aliens.

    You know that's the revelation at the end of a sci-fi novel by a certain revered astronomer, right?

    Unless you only saw the Hollywood movie of it - which completely omitted that whole idea. I guess that was so she could have more romance time with that bongo playing guy.

    OK, I guess we'll need to switch badge numbers to be the name the agent signed with a private key controlled by the FBI director.

    Plus side: Anyone can verify that a badge belongs to a particular named person by checking against the public key.
    Down side: Badge numbers are now 500 digits long and weigh 30 pounds.

    We were in Afghanistan because that's where the people that attacked us were based (at the time anyway). We were in Iraq because... LOOK OVER THERE AT THAT SHINY THING... (*runs off*)

    I'm sick of hearing about the drunken pirate. From the more neutral accounts I've read, She wasn't kicked out of the student teaching program JUST be cause of the photo. Her supervisor had cited (on her past performance reviews before the photo) a lack of professionalism and a lack of understanding of the subject matter she was teaching.     However, if I ever lose my job - I want to get her lawyer. He's done a great job of turning this from "I'm crappy at my job and don't get along with my boss, and I got fired" to "OMG look at me I'm being repressed".

    I wonder if they will help you move, or give you a ride to the airport. Might be worth it to avoid annoying your actual friends. (Assuming they're cheaper than a cab or movers)
