  1. Bathroom break! on Youngsters Skip DVR Ads Less Than Seniors · · Score: 1

I try and use the bathroom during the commercials because if I'm not watching TV by myself which is usually the case, it seems rude to just pause it just because _I_ have to pee. Because of this, I use the commercials as a good time to excuse myself.

    What do you guys do?

The goon at the door saw that my phone had camera capability and denied me entrance. Are you serious? If that's the approach they're going to take, pretty soon they'll be showing their movies to empty theaters. Most phones have video recording capabilities these days. And people aren't going to leave their phone at home (perhaps the movies isn't the only place you're going while you're out) and I for one am not going to leave an expensive phone in my car since, if that's the policy, thieves are going to know that cars outside theaters are target-rich environments for cell phones.

I've always seen the warnings that video recording devices aren't allowed and wondered WTF given the cell phones we have these days. It's a lost cause, really.

The day they don't let me in because my cell phone has a camera is the day I stop going to movies.

Nah, they can always show the movies to those few hundred thousand folks who bought the iPhone since it doesn't record video! *oh snap* lol

  5. Blocking VOIP services and controlling content on T-Mobile Bans Others' Apps On Their Phones · · Score: 1

I would guess that this move is designed to ensure that the cellular "pay by minute" model does not go the way of the dinosaurs. If we are moving towards mobile broadband connections on all cell phones, it's not a far cry to have users install Skype or other generic VoIP clients on their phones to make calls (especially to bypass those expensive international rates).

Also, I would guess that this move allows the carrier to control content and maintain a licensing fee or commission for software placed on their phones. (I guess the Apple iPhone would be an exception...seems like AT&T is bending ov^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H not getting a good deal here).

Maybe your friend isn't so reliable. What you say here makes a bit of sense....

Sony was so focused on Blueray that they never gave ATI the heads up to produce a video card specific for thier system. They didn't give ATI enough lead time. Thus, the video card is a general fix for a video solution that doesn't work well with the PS3 ONLY BECAUSE ATI DIDN'T PRODUCE A CARD FOR THE PS3 AT ALL!!!!

The PS3's were at the DigiLife expo in NY this past weekend and I got to try it out first hand. The controller feels just like the older PS2 controller if only a little lighter. If you were used to playing PS2, then this will be no different. I don't see how someone could say that it was flimsy...if you want to make it heavier, add some lead weights to it, but other then that it feels sturdy and light.

I submitted my two weeks notice and gave them transition plan outline. About two days later I was called into a room with three HR reps, my manager, a lawyer, and the chief of security. Supposedly, I was working on sensitive information and the lawyer said that it would be prudent if I left immediately. Five minutes later, I was packing up my stuff under supervision of the chief of security and then promptly escorted to my car. They took my parking pass and id and bid me farewell. Of course I was paid for the rest of the two weeks.

No hard feelings, but with concerns over security nowadays, I don't blame employers for going through this extra step. I mean, IF I had done something malicious, what would their course of action be? Besides a lawsuit in which most cases side with the employee not the employer, they couldn't fire me because I had already quit.
