  1. HOLD IT, HOLD EVERYTHING! on "V" Sequel Coming to NBC · · Score: 2, Funny

I thought that when the rebel fighters developed the Red Dust they would disperse it around the planet, into the air. The ending of the series doesn't get into details, but it is assumed that the humans won after the little girl safed the mother ship from crashing and killing the leader with the dust. How can the Visitors STILL be in charge when they can't even breathe the air. This is BULLSH*T! We don't need to stinkin' aliens coming to resue us, in fact, they need US to give the the forumla for the Red Dust.

  2. I want Zillion or PS2 or XBox !! on Sega Remakes Phantasy Star, More For PS2 · · Score: 1

I remember in the Master System days, wow that brings back memories. The Sega Master system accepted game cartridges and a very knew technology that's only been used with the TruboGrafix system, credit card size game modules. These credit card modules would slide into the Master Systems card slot and there was a game that I loved called Zillion. Now that I think about it, I don't know if it was a cartridge or credit card module, but it was a very known game that I had borrowed/bought (can't remember) but it was my first taste an an RPG. It was GREAT! Before Sonic the Hedghog came along it was the Opa-Opa that was Seg'a mascot. Anywayz, Zillion was such a great game that my family got in it where about three or four of us would play at the same time as a team with one or two people taking notes, one playing the actual game and another person helping along, making recommendations because it was HUGE (in those days) and you had to travel back and forth, rememer secret codes and paths. It was really really fun. This game then led me to the Phantasy Star series and I played most of the Phantasy Star games getting paper that had grids printed on them and making a HUGE booklet of maps and directions, a very detailed booklet. Then I lent the game and booklet to a friend who lost the booklet but was kind enough to give me a game back, sans the cartridge casing and the game manual. FUCK that friend!!

But, why the hell would he want to build this when it is easier to get the parts and build it himself. But this argument would be comparable to being a PC modder. Why would you build and/or construct your own mods when you can buy them pre-made. I prefer to build my own mods with my dremel and a little imagination and ingenuity.

Those were the days. Quarters after quarters on Shinobi, let's not forget Rastan and Karate Champ!! I think the games nowdays don't have much use for skill as did the OLDER games. Karate Champ had you choose A LOT of different moves, whereas Mortal Kombat or other fighting versus games had only a few moves to choose from in comparison. The original arcade Shinobi was difficult the deeper you got, and I am ashamed to say that I have yet to complete it, even with my ROM copy and MAME. I also have some Shinobis with my Genesis emulator.

OH how I missed my beloved Shinobi!!

Honorable mentioned: Rastan, Altered Beasts, Karate Champ, Tron, Q-Bert, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Defender, Tempest, Galaga, Battle Tank, Asteroids, and many many more.

    4) Ray guns - check. We have different forms of ray guns, tv tube, microwave guns, military rifles using other types of rays.

These tools worked GREAT for remove development in either Windows or Linux/Unix systems. In Windows, you just mapped your drive or used CF Studio or Dreamweaver's configuration to copy files when you save them. OR, which is what this story really reminds me of, is the use of SSH. Yes, I had to copy files back and forth over SSH when I wanted to see my changes, but Dreamver had this feature to work the SSH and automatically copy files back and forth all with the simple use of the project file navigation window. The user, me, never felt like I was working on a remote system, but felt like I was doing all the work locally. My co-workers were amazed that this feature was buried deep in the applications.

WTF? If I work my ass off and someone isn't so lucky, then I should give up some of my hard earned $$$ to them so we both live a modest life? Ummm... that experiment was tested in the USSR (Soviet Union) and it FAILED! Hey, I wish we weren't so greedy and we lived in a Star Trek world with no fear, poverty, hunger, and war, but we aren't. I get up everyday to make $$$ so I can pay my bills and buy the things I want. Hey, I'm even trying to do something in my spare time to make more $$$ for myself so I can retire safer. So you are telling me that I should fork over my hard earned cash by giving up some of my weekends and time with my family because some person doesn't feel like working hard, not good with managing his/her life, bad luck, dumb, raised with imcompetent parents, or who knows how many other reasons! Hey, I grew up poor with a single working mexican mother who worked as a maid cleaning houses, and I'm proud to say that I am a professional computer systems developer (web, databases, applications solutions) with a wife, new house (which I'm in love with) with a pool, two cars, and two cats (along with my other technological marvels, ie. Tivo, computers, etc). I worked my ass off for this and will continue working so I can live a better life. Oh, BTW, I pay a HELL of a lot of taxes to those "unfortunate" people who aren't as lucky as myself. I was out of work last year for 3 months, but I tried my best to get back to work. I wasn't lazy and lived off of the government, I wanted to support myself and not off the backs of other hard working Americans.

Yes, we have too much of corporate America in the pockets of our elected officials, and I'll be the first in line to execute all of them and start over, but how DARE you say that what I've earned should be TAKEN from me and given to those who do not have as much wealth as I do.

BTW, if you think I'm where I am because I went to school, well I didn't. I lived at home, went to college from grants and scholarships THAT I EARNED from being a smart student in high school. I worked AND went to college. Later, I paid for ALL of my college while working a full-time job. I'm not finished yet, but I'm still going to school just to get my degree to show these A$$HOLES at work that I know just as much as they do, but I don't have a piece of paper prooving it. But you know what??? I get those jobs that need degrees because I have experience!

I can't wait until we can do away with these identification cards and use the 666 on our foreheads or hands to do business. Take a lesson from Gattica and The Minority Report, the day will come we ALL people will be identifiable by either their DNA, iris, or any part of thier body being cataloged in a national/global database. They will be able to track our movements a la Minority Report and 1984, no our fate a la Gattica, peer into our transactions (ummm, they can do that already). We are near a cashless society, so it is easy to track credit card purchases (also debit ATMs). Apprehending a criminal using these tools is futile, but they are trying to pull the wool over our eyes in the name of national defense. Most people are like sheep and will be told what is good for them, and they WILL believe it.

WIRED magazine did an article a few months back about how difficult would it really be to live a life away from being tracked with todays daily rituals (credit card purchases, employment, benefits, voting, etc). Bascially, it is very very difficult to life un=-noticed and the only way to do so would live like Ted Kazinsky(sp?) (The Una-bomber) or in Alaska in the middle of nowhere.

Well, I went to the Houston Public Library in Downtown (which I hadn't been to in many many many , you get the idea, years). I got the library card that gave me access to some computer terminals and computer card catalogue. I was amazed about what they had converted electronically and links to other sites that had dictated material. I was also amazed that I could get all this same access from home using the information printed on the library card. So I go home (I have Road Runner cable modem) and do my research instead of being trapped in the library and get to work. I find electronic format of lots and lots of textbooks, magazines, government docs, and many many more. What put me a notch or two down from my high horse was that I even found that they had radio talk shows transcribed (which I used in my research paper) that helped a lot!

There is a lot of information ALREADY converted from text and audio sources at your fingertips that was unfathomable a few years ago. And all of this is free from the website (and links to other sources) from the public library. Talk about your one stop shop.
