Here's an idea: Why don't you guys in the USA switch to the billing-style employed by the rest of the cellphone-enabled world, where the CALLER pays?
If the USA is all out for 'may the best economic model win' then it's settled - 70% cellphone usage in the UK proves that the non-US billing scheme is the best way to increase uptake and not penalise people for owning cellphones.
This is not US-bashing (a change for me) but an honest recommendation - go petition someone. Seriously.
And believe me, I'd be just as pissed off to recieve a cold call even though they are paying if it was to my cellphone - I consider that to be my private airspace.
I agree, the entire time, my mouse cursor was floating over the leftmost side of the screen, and if you make a mistake it's quite hard to correct without having to retype the last 3 letters.
There should be 2 modes - one 'floating mode' as there is at present and a 'clickthrough' mode where you click on the letter you see and it instantly magnifies the screen to recentre on that letter.
Since exactly WHEN has New Labour been a leftist party? When they took money from the Hinduja brothers for passports? Since they refused to re-nationalise the railways? Since they corporatised the NHS?
Whoever works on the local council in Bristol should know that they are amongst some of the WORST elected representatives in the country. When I've had problems in the past that required their help, they all respond with the right noises, but then just sit on their lying fat arses not actually doing anything.
So be warned - Bristol will say they're going to take up your cause, and then just plain old do nothing.
I'm sorry, but the 'a' and the 'u' keys are so far removed from eachother on a standart QWERTY keyboard that the only way they could have been placed together to spell 'chaulk' is by intent. If he'd spelt it 'chakl' or 'chaslk' then the mistake could easily be forgiven.
However, this clearly means that the dumbfuck was trying to spell a simple word by using phonemes. This does not work for much of the English language and therefore he warrants the title 'fucking idiot who can't spell but can use a computer'.
-Nano.
p.s. On the other hand, if our friend is not a native speaker of the English language, then his mistake is easily forgiven, and I pray that I may find myself becoming as proficient in his native tongue as he is in mine.
This is such an amazing idea. I just wish that it was a possibility in my teens. I definitely think you're heading in the right direction - sure, encouraging the kids to build teams and deal with a little conflict are great motivators and teachers for later life.
On the plus side you're using equipment at no extra cost that would otherwise go unused (but watch those gaming licenses...hell, you might be able to get some sort of concessions from the companies involved).
But the most important thing about your scheme is as you said yourself, keeping the kids off the streets and giving them something to do. Boredom must be one of the principal causes of youth 'misbehaviour', and knowing where the kids are after dark will certainly put a lot of parents' minds at rest.
I congratulate you on your very original take on an old problem, and hope that others follow after you.
Here in the UK, I just got connected to ZenADSL (www.zenadsl.com, and their price for 1.5Mbps/512Kbps is.....wait for it...£90/month! Yes, that's right - $130/month.
So before you all go bitching and moaning and crying to mommy about the 'bad men and their expensive broadband', try thinking about those of us who really *do* have expensive broadband.
Or you could think about children in Africa, dying because they can't get a clean water supply, but hey! who cares about that now that I can get pr0n quicker than Dubya can say 'Nuke Iraq'.
Metal Hydride storage functions at room temperature. They require energy input to liberate any stored hydrogen. The best idea is to use any excess heat liberated from the PEM (proton exchange membrane) to do this, thereby minimising wastage.
At least you know that when the military gets involved in something, endless piles of money are unquestioningly thrown at it.
So, this can only be a good thing in the end.

Because the truly important part of this bill is the fact that they're tacking on rights to wiretap without court order.
THAT's the true aim of this bill - the rest of it won't actually change a damned thing about murder law.

Yeah Yahoo, bend over grab those ankles!
sweet, dude! good call.

Seen this all before here about 2 months ago, I just can't find the link through the search engine.
Nice try for a new story but this is old news.

One little question...
Since exactly WHEN has New Labour been a leftist party? When they took money from the Hinduja brothers for passports? Since they refused to re-nationalise the railways? Since they corporatised the NHS?
Clearly leftist actions at work...

Waiting 2 hours to see someone who you believe to be the God's messenger on earth....sounds like a bargain to me.
OTOH, I've known of people waiting for 2 WEEKS to see the latest of Lucas' table scraps.
So who has more power?
-Nano.
Jesus!

>Of course... since Jar-Jar is obviously a racial stereotype this may not go over so well...
Or, of course, it may open up new markets for the franchise in the Deep South...
Now I see Lucas' cunning plan!
-Nano.
I'd pay more to see Lucas 'punishing' our Natalie...
Hmm...quite disturbed really.

A good retort, but just one small point:
