Well it appears that Sweden is going to cut down/restructure the defense to counter terrorism and provide their part to the new EU army. At least that is my interpretation of the new defence proposition. And I think you have the chocolate confused with Switzerland (though i think Belgium is the new chocolate county of Europe). It was only a couple of years ago that Swedish chocolate was not allowed to be called chocolate in the EU because of the low cocoa percentage.
Humans have existed for more than 100 000 years. Taking a strictly scientific view point, it would surprise me if there have never been a virgin birth during those years, chances are that the baby born would have been a girl though.
Is this really different from when Dell sold Ipods two years ago? I thought that Apple was going to license the Ipod to HP, now it looks like they have made HP into "just another reseller".
Yes I am in full agreement with you about how to conduct a stress-test. But my point is that most people play after business hours, that is when Blizzard`s employees have left work (if they work 9-5 that is).
Why US only? Yes I read the FAQ; same time-zone, language barrier yadda yadda. Wouldn`t it be better if they had different time-zones, that way Blizzard could monitor the game play during working hours and not leisure time. Or maybe Americans play games when at work;) .
I have always wondered about the difference between blender and povray. Are they competitors do they complement each other, what is the relation? It seems they are often mentioned together.
The venture capitalists is the "Burcham Community Property Trust," which is controlled by the parents of Mr. Robertson's wife. According to http://lwn.net/Articles/81289/
The first time I ran Thunderbird it marked every mail in my inbox as spam. But after some training it gets nearly every mail right, combined with my ISP filtering I haven`t gotten one spam mail in my inbox for several months.
Car companies are very conservative, they don`t want to ship new cool things because if things don`t work as advertised or an accident occurs they get sued for large amounts of money. All the car companies want their competitors to try out new and potentially dangerous components. If you have a new technology and you think that a car manufacturer will be interested in it prepare to wait 10 years for evaluations( that you will more than likely have to fund yourself).
Actually there are now more living people than have ever died. No I can`t prove it you have to take my word for it. Being a slashdot reader it is worth alot;) .
What kind of codes are Pepsi and Apple using in the bottle caps. Are the codes following some pattern or are they using random numbers?? If they follow a pattern and it is true that only 10% of all codes are used, one could just boost his favorite independant artist, during the last day of the promotion and no one would notice (except pepsi that is) provided you found the algorithm, ofcourse.
Hennessy and Patterson, are the only text books I read cover to cover. It`s nice that you got a really good price for the books, but considering that I normally just read a chapter or two from the course books I buy, I don`t feel that ripped off about Hennessy and Patterson book from which I even read the Appendix(Some of it is online).
That`s just what Pierre de Fermat said in 1637. Apparently the bandwith at the time was terrible, and links were often lost to something called "le effect de slashdot". Not that that was news or that it mattered.
step1: Assesments! step2: Consulting! step3: Open up your wallet! We'll be here a while! (a.k.a Profit!)
They actually told us the what the mythical step2 is. Thank you IBM you showed us the path to Linux profits... hey wait a sec, wasn't consulting what the OSS community already makes their profit on? Weird they were right all this time.
Increases in non-defense discretionary spending over the past six administrations:
Nixon/Ford: 6.8% per year
Carter: 2.0% per year
Reagan: -1.3% per year
Bush 1: 4.0% per year
Clinton: 2.5% per year
Bush Jr: 8.2% per year

And here is a nice graph.
The Economist has supported the tax cuts, But not the increase of government spending.

Worth saving.
Damn, I misread that as Air Missiles. I was really worried for a while.

I am more than aware of that fact, but they are not exactly 8 hours apart now are they, buddy.

They can always buy back their stock if it falls under say 10$. That way they have rewarded their VCs and can delist the company.
(liquid)Water is at it`s coldest just before it turns into ice. It might have its highest density at 4C though.

Well if you want to impress a Swede, pronounce it as Ångstöm. Here is a link with some info on the Ångstöms.
