No. This is the second time in a few days that we have one example out of millions of applications of the algorithms not working as expected.
Anecdotes are not data.
More like "collateral damage".
But I guess that'll be fine..... until this stuff makes it into the police/military. But first people have to get upset engineers didn't want to get involved in military contracts and scold them about it.
It'll be interesting to see in future court action against them if they try to flip the other way, and then have the prosecution ask which version is true, and if they've lied under oath.
Except for the very, very few 'pro' products they've (reluctantly) released (and barely updated), they've basically given up on the Pro crowd, and are clearly only concentrating on 'gadget' devices for consumers, not meant for professionals (creators, etc.): iDevices, AppleTV, AppleWatch & HomePod.
I mean, Apple has always been about making what the users want, even when the users don't know what they want.... so users must want keyboards that collapse at the smallest spec of dust.... right?
All these manufacturers that want to ban right to repair laws should be forced to provide a minimum of five years warranty repair on any hardware, and seven years guaranteed continuous software updates.
And any planned obsolescence that falls before either one should guarantee a brand new device to the consumer, which includes full warranty on that product as if it was purchased new.
He has asked the Federal Communications Commission to reduce the fine proposed last year, calling it disproportionate, in part because most calls went unanswered or resulted in a quick hang-up by consumers.
He wants a reduction because he couldn't annoy people long enough?
The freedoms we enjoy are quite precious, and the sacrifices made to preserve them do not all occur on the field of battle... sometimes the good guys have to carry the enormous burden of a moral compass during the pursuit of the most immoral.
Seems like he's on a roll these days thinking he can score browny points taking stabs at Facebook, Google, etc. but pretty much anything he says is just a shallow sound bite for the benefit of the fanboys (and the press).
I feel that by the time Bitcoin becomes "mainstream", all possible Bitcoin will already have been minted, and will basically only be in the hands of the 1% - with that 1% being the geeks this time around.
Apple is adamant on making sure it gets paid 30% for anything that is 'paid' on the app store - either direct purchase of an app, or of its in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Given this, I don't see this type of arrangement lasting.
Tell kids that everything they see on their screen, you can also see on yours. (That is, of course, until they wise up).
... " That oughta shut them up! "

...that Google has proven its AI/algorithms just don't work.
Time for a rename.
I hear they are going to replace "sex" with "gender" in all those places.
Wonder how they'll handle the words class, association, etc...
we don't want Netflix to turn into another "channel" provider.
That's the way I see things going - since everybody and their grandma is now prepping their own content service (Disney's next).
Say I don't want any of my cash to end up in Fox's coffers in license fees, I could go for a Netflix Originals only tier - what about that?

The U.S. has now been added to the list of #shithole countries.
If they're going to use copyright law to make maintenance illegal, then the free warranty should be 95 years from the year of its first publication or a term of 120 years from the year of its creation. That is how long they are demanding that it be illegal for you to repair your items.
Good point.

Seriously!?
They should double his fine just for asking that.

some obscure company (patent troll) claims this violates all their patents?
Seems to me pretty soon only a select few (read: humongous) companies will own/run everything.
