  1. Why isn't MSNBC reporting? on WebTV/MSNTV Virus Dials 911 · · Score: 2

Why isn't MSNBC reporting anything about it? They usually jump at the chance to prove they are unbiased even though (MSNBC is a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC)...

Problem solved. Passport dies a slow and embarassing death.

I think the concept of the player is great - but why on EARTH is there a disc tray that ejects from the front?!?! This picture shows the tray, I would have *much* preferred a front-loading mechanism like on their bottom-of-the-line model.
    Bad Sony. No cookie.

The best professor I ever had could do everything in his head, hundreds of lines of code. He knew exactly how the compiler would react to anything.

He didn't just teach us the syntax and the languages, he taught us how to do *that*, and *that*, to me, is a f-ing awesome skill.
Dr. Caviness. We used to joke about him being the "human compiler". He ruled.

  7. "Unmanageable" label on Is it Wrong to Accept an Employment Counter-Offer? · · Score: 4, Insightful

It's amazing how they felt that my expressing misgivings about my position in the company invoked a nice counter offer and a simultaneous feeling that I was "arrogant", a "loose cannon", and "unmanageable".

Those are the best qualities to have - it just means that Management has recognized you are doing something smart. They like to be the only ones doing the screwing, you screw 'em back and you're "unmanageable". You know what I say? Good! I'd rather be "unmanageable" than some clueless putz that gets it up the ass every day.

Most of that agreement is just a scare tactic.

I'd tend to agree, as I spoke with a lawyer just last week and he said the same thing about restrictions in contracts.

Just because it's on paper doesn't mean it is a law, or that violating it is grounds for any legal action. (but, IANAL)

MY question is, whatever happened to the ORIGINAL RealNames? Once upon a time it was basically a search engine to find corporations' websites.
