    Mostly in America do we think that competition is better than cooperation. This is epitomized in the TV show "Survivor" where greedy Americans compete for resources in a survival situation where more sensible people would support each other against the elements and natural hazards. Americans are so free enterprise and anti-communist that, even to save their lives, they cannot embrace:" from each according to his ability; to each according to his need". Isn't it obvious which group would have the better chance of surviving and propagating. Compare the way Australians and Americans acted and survived in Japanese hell hole prison camps.

    I think that the answer to unacceptable abuse and threats on social media is to properly identify the users. People do not behave like that if their identity is known and they face normal existing accountability. We have a right to free speech, but not to anonymous free speech.

    It is about time that Hollywood realized that quality drama is about fine acting, great stories, tragedy, comedy, pathos, etc. It is not, and never was, about car chases, gun fights, violence, bizarre sex, and explosions. I can get all that at home! When I go out I want to be entertained by something different. We are not all poorly educated ghetto kids with puerile hero fantasy tastes in movies.

    The Australian Government has been sucking up to the USA since PM Harold Holt begged LBJ to allow Australian troops (including conscripts) to serve in the Vietnam War. The "Reds under the Beds" election campaigns, and the domino theory, were very effective for the Liberal Party. Many good men died for their re-election. Labor fell into the same abyss.

    Economic rationalism says that the intelligence agencies who get the benefit should pay the cost. That provides a healthy rationing mechanism. It has been routine for decades for law enforcement agencies to pay telephone interception costs, but at an actual cost level with no profit margin. Sure it our tax dollars moving in a circle, but it holds up transparency and accountability.

    American Justice cannot be trusted to comply with the law.. Or else why would it be pretending it has jurisdiction over someone who is not a citizen and who was not residing in the USA when he did the act. US courts have no jurisdiction in this case and should be told by Britain, Australia, and Sweeden to fuck off.

    Look you Yanks just do not understand! You cannot make laws that bind foreign nationals from doing things in other countries. Assange did not break any US laws, because they did not apply to him. Would the USA cooperate with you being extradited to Australia for breaking one of its laws while you were living in London? You cannot break Australian laws unless you are in Australia, or you are an Australian. The USA is not special. Get it!

    At least five English kings were deposed and murdered or banished. Richard Ii & lll Ed Ii, charly I, James II. Now the monarch reins ( not rules) by the will of the people, expressed through Parliament. They can be voted out, and it may become necessary to do that for Charly III.

    It is still an invalid arrest because the law did not apply to him when he did those actions. No American governments can make laws that apply in other countries, except for American citizens. Fuck off is the proper response.

    It is impossible to break an American law when you are not an American and not in America because the law does not apply to you. He must have either been caught doing the crime in the USA, or he must be an American citizen.

    Yes indeed. The French won the US war of Independence and then gave Americans the freedom that they so treasure. Any fair assessment of the final, decisive battle, the seige of Yorktown, would conclude that it was only won through the power of the French army and navy. Canada was not alone in finding a better way. Australia and New Zealand are also now much better places to live than the USA.

    The guys who really know about battery life are the electric RC model airplane flyers because they regularly use batteries from full charge to exhaustion in one flight of a few minutes duration. They are using lithium polymer now and, depending on the motot/propeller combination are getting 5 to 10 minutes of flight from a fully charged battery.

    Rubbish. Scientific research does not involve destroying any creatures for money, or food. Never! The research results are never published in any scientific manner because it is not real science and would be seen for what it really is: a sham. The Japanese whaling industry just wants to make money from them. That's all. The rest of the world believes that these wonderful animals are worth protecting and is willing to not make money from them. Whaling is a particularly barbaric practice that most humans have grown out of as they become more civilized.

    Division of a bill total is arithmetic, not math. A mathematician would provide a proof that his portion of the bill can never be more than 1 in 20 provided that the number of diners is a prime.
